I think people probably did know but didn't bother mentioning it because he is notoriously shit live nowadays.

It seems he has added the manchester date yesterday which was new to me.

Yeah I have heard that you often struggle to understand what song he is playing at any point. I wonder if the smaller (v BST etc) concert hall venues might make him/it more user friendly? 🙂

I really enjoyed rough and rowdy ways........

Ohhhhh this is news to me. Where did you hear about the secret?

Heading as a punter rather than a worker but will keep an eye out for you all in your Oxfam hi-viz.

Hope everyone has a great one and the weather holds out nicely for us all 🥰

The line up as per the app for the main stage on Saturday night is ‘Top Secret Headliner’……I am not really that bothered given I will be probably be on shift knowing my luck, but am a little intrigued.  I thought Boomtown were brave in holding back the line up to a few days before the festival but this takes it even further!

Personally, and this was only my own experience and is not intended to belittle or deny those who had different experiences, I didn't think it was noticeably busier than previous years. The festival has felt "too busy" for a few years now but this year didn't feel any busier than 19 for instance.

Then again I've been at it for a good number of years and am able to anticipate where will be busy - I went nowhere near Arcadia for instance when the big acts were on, I stayed well clear of Sugababes and McFly in Avalon when it was blatantly obvious they would be packed to stupid levels. Even stuff like Wet Leg I didn't just turn up 5 minutes before they were on and look surprised that it's packed. Got there just as Orlando Weeks (lovely soft spoken polite young man) was finishing, went in down the side by the bar and pretty much walked straight up to the barrier. Had a great spot and loved their set. Diana didn't feel as packed for a legend slot as Kylie did, we had a spot in between the towers and there was plenty of room, only issue came after Chain Reaction when I went to the loo and couldn't get back in through the crowd crust. Gave up and went to watch Fontaines DC instead (right decision).

Thing is though, it's easy for me to say "yeah well I knew what I was doing", I imagine there of first timers and people who may not have been as experienced who wouldn't know all this.

Agree with all of this. Similar experience.

    and welcome back.

  4. Walking Boots 95

    Fresh and Black tent 89

    Power Bank 69

    Camp Shower 40

    Kettle / stove 29

    Lenor Bottles 74 (+10)*

    Airbeds 69

    Torches 40

    She Wee 35

    Hat/Hats 73

    Camping Chairs 35 (-10)

    Pillows 69

    * so my case for fabric conditioner bottles includes saving the planet reduce, reuse, recycle. It is also supportive in the battle against rising costs as the uriwell or similar cost £10 + each time. The efficacy of the bottle given the greater volume v uriwell. Also my understanding is that the female of the species can use a bottle, albeit this is reported and not observed.  And finally that smell of fluffy washed towels at 5am in the tent when used is sublime.

Would be grand to have a shot at Crazy Horse - not that I'd be here. Saw the gig with Promise of the Real in Leeds in... 2016.

    Decent show.

I saw him headline in 09, have to say one of the best gigs I have ever seen. He seemed to love it to. Saw him also in 2016.  Different band, different gig, but excellent.

Never happened. I was there. Psychedelic Pill was like 5 minutes long.

Neil won't be touring again any time soon, unfortunately.

Is this inside knowledge or an opinion?

he is a long shot for Glastonbury. Pyramid headliner or nothing. But would happily see him wherever.

I thought the food stall and toilet queues were no worse than normal and it seemed like there was more space in our camping field (Paines) than before but that may have been because more of our group got there earlier this year.

Bottom line, I didn't think it was any worse than usual. I did notice the little financial cut backs here and there though, and that was more of a worry to me about where the festival could be heading.

Somewhere between these two. If you are going to the popular acts/stages, and if you chose to eat when those acts finish it is going to be busy. Realise that the pinch points can be distressing if you get caught up in them. I have been several times over the years but sometimes it is unavoidable and sensible behaviour by (most of ) the crowd overcomes.

Been to lots of UK festivals from tiny to large, never done Glasto but very tempted.

This thread and forum making me reconsider 😕 seems to be 80% negative comments and 20% positive.

See my comment above. The whole sodding internet is negative. It is so frustrating that unhappy people seem to spend their life telling people on the internet this. I realise some people really struggle and have no other options, but a lot of them need to switch their phone off and live their life.

    sorry. Rant over 😂

  8. We will be absolutely trying for next year. All 10 of our lot had a ball. Yes it was hard graft at times, especially after a brutal Wednesday getting in with the heat.  I was a broken man on Wednesday night. But it was fabulous. I don’t think it was busier than 2019. This was my 9th Glastonbury and for sure it is busier than it was in 2009 and the demographic of crowd has changed, but as someone said above, Glastonbury changes every single time it happens. That’s why it is still so relevant. And as someone else said, queuing for food and booze has been a thing in the busy areas for ever. If you don’t want to queue or don’t like big crowds there are loads of other places to go to in the festival and still have a great time. I do get a little frustrated that the most strident comments on here and elsewhere are negative when the silent majority who are having a ball just crack on.  🤷🏽‍♂️😀

  9. Gotta be Macca,

followed by Kendrick. This is not my scene whatsoever but I was blown away by the passion, the technical capability and the amazing show. Pure theatre and art.

equal 3rd to Kikagaku Moyo, Wolf Alice, Holly Humberstone, Sam F, Noel, Nightmare on Wax (even tho they were late).

    amazing festival. Loved it all.

No, that’s Denelas from Shepton. Good, but not ‘freshly baked cheese and pesto focaccia from Lydia’s’ good.

Wasn’t Lydia’s next to the Cockmill bar alongside Annie macs?

That pic is a couple of days old I think. Cockmill is up now and the acoustic is going up. The poles are up for it already

Good news. Have we got on-site intel now?

To repeat @bennyhana22, where tf is the JP tent? Am I missing something obvious 🤷🏽‍♂️?

Also looking at the overhead picture there I no acoustic tent yet, but more importantly no Cockmill Bar tent…….they are playing with us aren’t they 😂

At what point do we start becoming worried? Do they normally cut it this fine? I'm hearing rumours that some people at download had to have e-ticekts as they were never dispatched on time, and Glasto is currently only on 54%. It's not like they've had 3 years to prepare for this is it 🤦‍♂️

In 2019 I received my despatch email on 19th June. I think end of next week is when you start really fretting 😕
