So, let’s hope the 2024 map appears soon!
-
It’s really difficult to see how it would work. There’s not much space in the Avalon field anyway, can’t see how they can create more space than they already have for a queue.
And Avalon is like a little self-contained festival, now potentially messed up.

Thank you! I've entered. Quite fancy the 're-loved' jacket too.

They should open the Avalon!

Enjoying Julia Holter (If you like Bjork you'll like this)

If the cafe stage has gone will that mean there will be fewer small bands? I know people like 3 daft monkeys used to play the cafe stage several times. Presumably to get enough tickets for all of them
Unless there's a replacement elsewhere. I've seen some good stuff in the Avalon Cafe over the years, starting with the Scottish singer Astrid Williamson in 2004. Seen some dubious singers too! (Michael Eavis 😀)

To be clear, it's the cafe and stage within NOT the main stage.
Phew! I can breathe again!

5am is usually pretty decent 😎
I'll take your word for it!

The cafe area alone wouldn't wouldn't accommodate any queues

Neither will be there. Space is being given over to the queueing system for SE corner which will run 24/7 this year.
Noooooooooooo!
I can live without the Avalon Cafe, but the Avalon Stage too? And the SE corner never looks as good in daytime anyway.

I hope the Avalon have another class act from way back when, I’ve really enjoyed the likes of PP Arnold, The Zombies & Lulu there. Suzi Quatro would be fun!
Also, the folkie Sam Lee is playing Glastonbury so I’d imagine the Avalon or the Acoustic for him.

Moby’s 2024 UK and European tour dates are:
SEPTEMBER
19 – The O2, London, England
21 – Sportpaleis, Antwerp, Belgium
22 – Velodrome, Berlin, Germany
23 – Mitsubishi Electric Hall, Düsseldorf, Germany
24 – Le Zenith, Paris, FranceSpace is there for an extra date on the 18th too.
If he came to the North West I’d probably go see him, only time I’ve seen him was Glastonbury so it’d bring back good memories

There's a bit of a pattern for the Avalon, the poster tends to come around the middle of April, so around 3-4 weeks time.
-
Pulp borderline. I'd say no on balance, but could probably get away with it if the other 2 headliners were strong.
-
The absence of headliners for me - so far - gives me the opportunity to do different things around the festival I may otherwise miss.
The daytime line up is perfectly fine for me, 5 on the Park, 5 on West Holts, 2 on the Pyramid so I’m happy.
-
I’m sure Shania will put on a really professional, slick and fun show. I intend to be elsewhere. I’m a big fan of traditional country music but never really taken to the commercial pop side of the genre, Garth Brooks and most acts on Country 2 Country festivals as other examples.

Oh I’m sad! A have a couple of Cockney Rebel albums, Psychomodo & The Human Menagerie. Goddamn cancer!

Yeah, same here, I really haven't enjoyed the last three albums, Push the Sky Away onwards, so it's a decade or so since I've really been excited by him. But the new song has got me looking forward to the new record way more than I expected to. Still can't really get my head around him playing arenas though. Fair play, it's a decent payday, but just doesn't feel right.
He made the Manchester Arena feel like an intimate place when he played there last, one of the very best arena gigs I’ve witnessed.

Wet weather makes it so much more of a challenge navigating around the entire site, one bad year I was trying to see a band up at the Park, but I was sliding back down the slope and I gave up. If 2024 is bad I’m going to ignore much of the festival and stick 90% of the time to West Holts/Avalon/Acoustic. I’d much rather explore the whole festival in sunshine though.

Interesting report. Is the festival required to produce this as part of it’s license? Is this a first, I don’t recall seeing this report before?
