  1. It’s really difficult to see how it would work. There’s not much space in the Avalon field anyway, can’t see how they can create more space than they already have for a queue.

And Avalon is like a little self-contained festival, now potentially messed up.

Anyone have the 'Artist Presale' code or another source I can use please?

    Just found it!

If the cafe stage has gone will that mean there will be fewer small bands?  I know people like 3 daft monkeys used to play the cafe stage several times. Presumably to get enough tickets for all of them

Unless there's a replacement elsewhere. I've seen some good stuff in the Avalon Cafe over the years, starting with the Scottish singer Astrid Williamson in 2004. Seen some dubious singers too! (Michael Eavis 😀)

Was this the one around 2017?

Think it was the first one after it reopened. One of the best things I've ever seen, and I'm not even a Nick Cave superfan

    Yes, September 2017.

Neither will be there. Space is being given over to the queueing system for SE corner which will run 24/7 this year.

    Noooooooooooo!

I can live without the Avalon Cafe, but the Avalon Stage too? And the SE corner never looks as good in daytime anyway.

Moby’s 2024 UK and European tour dates are:

    SEPTEMBER
    19 – The O2, London, England
    21 – Sportpaleis, Antwerp, Belgium
    22 – Velodrome, Berlin, Germany
23 – Mitsubishi Electric Hall, Düsseldorf, Germany
24 – Le Zenith, Paris, France

Space is there for an extra date on the 18th too.

If he came to the North West I’d probably go see him, only time I’ve seen him was Glastonbury so it’d bring back good memories

  7. The absence of headliners for me - so far - gives me the opportunity to do different things around the festival I may otherwise miss.

The daytime line up is perfectly fine for me, 5 on the Park, 5 on West Holts, 2 on the Pyramid so I’m happy.

  8. I’m sure Shania will put on a really professional, slick and fun show. I intend to be elsewhere. I’m a big fan of traditional country music but never really taken to the commercial pop side of the genre, Garth Brooks and most acts on Country 2 Country festivals as other examples.

Yeah, same here, I really haven't enjoyed the last three albums, Push the Sky Away onwards, so it's a decade or so since I've really been excited by him. But the new song has got me looking forward to the new record way more than I expected to. Still can't really get my head around him playing arenas though. Fair play, it's a decent payday, but just doesn't feel right.

He made the Manchester Arena feel like an intimate place when he played there last, one of the very best arena gigs I’ve witnessed.

  10. Wet weather makes it so much more of a challenge navigating around the entire site, one bad year I was trying to see a band up at the Park, but I was sliding back down the slope and I gave up. If 2024 is bad I’m going to ignore much of the festival and stick 90% of the time to West Holts/Avalon/Acoustic. I’d much rather explore the whole festival in sunshine though.
