I made myself a metal ring at one of the workshops up in the Green Fields maybe 15 years ago, so I have a little piece of Glastonbury that’s always with me. They even repaired it for me for free a few years ago.

I know she’s not the only one, but I think it’s evil to release 4 versions of the same CD/LP where the difference is just the front photo.

i presume in that instance everyone has to wait while the thousands of people before them do their full transaction?
Yes. They have a tracker so you know where you are in the queue. At its worst it is something like 120,000th in the queue, and every few minutes it goes down by a couple of hundred, but it slows down the closer you get. It’s a peculiar form of torture.
-
Definitely not. Most years I go on a French site for a major sports event, randomly allocated queue. Longest I’ve been in the queue was around 6 hours. Ridiculous.

A group of us were trying for one person, no joy.

First: West Holts (As per most years).
Last: The Other (As per most years. Obviously they have some acts I like, but...).

If only you could make it happen! Speaking of good Acoustic Stage acts Katherine Priddy is playing Band On The Wall in May. Tickets less than £20 as well!
Yes, but I’ve seen her a couple of times last year so I’ll give it a miss, but have at last been listening to her second album. I chatted to her at our local festival in Bury last September. As it stands, my favourite female album of the year so far is Waxahatchee’s Tigers Blood.

What happened?
The Hobos announced last year they were going on a hiatus, not saying they were splitting up but giving no encouragement they’d be back either. There’s often been tension between Davey and the other two (Who may be back as the Devils Prefects).

Acoustic Stage is probably the stage I’d most like to have a go at organising.
Go for it! You’d do a good job of it.

Ooh what brings you there tomorrow?
I’ve actually been in the theatre but for a comedy Christmas show with Simon Amstell, Fern Brady, Tim Key and Ivo Graham. Was decent but as you say pretty conventional.
I’m doing an interesting project, the Manchester equivalent of https://www.humansofnewyork.com/ with help from Factory International and others.

Sounds great, a pal of mine that went mentioned the high ceilings - she said it almost felt like an outside gig.
The high ceiling allows for much adaptability, floors or partial floors can be added to the space, and it can be vertically divided too, plus the more conventional theatre seating area can also be part of the gig/theatre/show etc creating a huge space.
Just so happens I’m working there tomorrow….

What’s the general vibe of Avalon?
It’s in its own self contained area, a popular bar too, the line up tends towards Bearded Theory/Beautiful Days tastes.

Anyone seen Haircut 100? I used to think nothing of them but now reckon they could be fun?

My daughter is so excited Baby Queen is playing - I think she’ll gat a surprisingly large crowd. I’ve seen her live a few times, and she’s very good.
I saw her at Reading last year. Yes, she is good.
-
I'd be interested in Lulu, Toyah & Robert, and the Old Time Sailors (They played Croissant Neuf last year but it was so rammed I couldn't get into the tent)
-
Yes! Happy with the line up. Baby Queen seems an odd choice for the Avalon!
-
Wow, that’s ever so slightly similar!!
Starman was nicked from Somewhere Over The Rainbow. One of Tin Machine’s songs was an exact rip off of Wild Thing. Bowie was no angel.

Which makes it even more tempting to buy all 4 versions. No wonder she’s a billionaire.
To be fair, thinking about it, it’s been going on for years. Earliest one I can recall is Zeppelin’s In Through The Out Door with 6 versions. I’m sure there are earlier examples.
