Hi Everyone by the way, I'm new to this chat, thought I'd pop along to see who the rumored headliners might be but instead i see that as my first message - what is going on here!!!

In all fairness Noel has headlined before. I prefer to see different headliners.

That's fair enough and its what i mean about each to their own, Wet Leg I've seen before and they're ok live, Courteeners sent me to sleep, Pixies are stunning altohugh i've seen them a few times recently where they didnt play a lot of the "big tunes" - which I loved, others probabaly wouldn't.

Surely its down to personal taste, I've seen Jamie T live a few times and think he's great. Fatboy slim is a headliner of any festival this size and Biffy are a great headliner for a fest of this size. I'd also say the undercard is strong, some really good and decent pop for the folks who like that sort of thing and Pixies and Idles alone are 2 bands that probabaly would have headlined 3 years ago. For my tastes this is a Very strong festival with an undercard better than IOW which is much more expensive and difficult to get to

Consider us all trolled then. They'll still sell out with a quality line up I'm sure.

Well, i do and forever in that we will disagree, especially if they are silly enough to book the same hotel again at 100 quid more and not look around, even without confirmation that it IS on. I am pretty sure it didn't happen but either way we can agree to disagree and move on. I'll probably go next year once line up AND venue are confirmed LOL

Generally this is how English language works ..............and goes back to my original point.... " We are sad to announce that 2024 edition of Mad Cool is Cancelled" They have not ever said that - therefore whatever they put, whatever they say - until those words become reality you have to presume its on. I mean I'm not even going this year so don't care either way but.....i expect it to be on with a stella line up as always.

But you could still see that person on Tuesday yeah? It doesn't mean you definitely WONT see them on Tuesday.

Mad cool moved venues last year, it took a year or two for the old venue to become great. It will evolve but one thing is for sure - the line up will be amazing - it always is

As IOW is likely to have the best line up in the UK (and although the headliners are decent, the undercard generally isn't) other than Glastonbury and the fact Glasto is a complete lottery. I'd seriously consider looking at foreign festivals. They are just as east to get to as the IOW in fairness and for the money you will have 1) a much better line up 2) More to do if there is the rare event you dont want to watch any bands 3) better weather. Rock Werchter and Mad Cool are good starting festivals.

Yet IFEMA was completely slated in 2018 for being a shite venue. I went in 2018 and although my experience was not as bad as others, the first night was a disaster. I went again in 2022 and it was superb.

I’ve been chatting with them on Instagram and last year they gave me some hints as to when announcements will be. This year nothing. They have replied and said just keep an eye on social media but that’s it.

It makes perfect sense if you were originally holding out for certain people / bands and they are no longer playing. it means you had time to scramble 2 other bands / artists to play Are the strokes out? They are touring with RHCP 🤷‍♂️

I’d agree with the above comment - rules them out more than puts them in contention. they are ultra fit for their age but I’m 42 and wouldn’t like to be driving from pompey to Norfolk on any day let alone a bank holiday 😂😂

It’s not only the two headliners I’d be worried about. To me it appears they have not been successful in securing who they wanted and are scrambling. This isn’t great but also was expected. However, if you type in new madcool space in Google maps - someone took pics of it last month and this week. Now, I don’t want to be accused of stereotyping but Spain don’t really do anything quickly. That land is miles away from being in any condition to hold a festival on. There are also petitions in place for it to even happen. Welcome to the world of mad cool festival 😂😂

Well I'm glad I started some decent debate on the headliners! It just seems to me that if it was anyone at any other festival, they'd already be announced. Keep your eyes peeled on the common for clues!
