    Even after all that though I’d rather pay £170 for this with half the bands pulling out and no social media Info from the organisers than pay an extra £70 for an Isle of Wight festival ticket, who update every day about the worst line up I’ve ever seen 🤷‍♂️

    Sometimes - you don't get a replacement headliner - Rock Werchter have not named replacements, nor do they intend to. Personally - I love NIN but if i was going to see the Strokes and foo fighters and got NIN TWICE in 2 days - I wouldn't be over excited. I am not and will not defend Mad Cool for their lack of communication - its not good enough - debate not even necessary, however I am more than happy with the line up we have even without QOTSA and FNM. Especially after the last couple of years we have been through. I think that the people "defending" it or "sticking up" for the festival, probably aren't defending it by choice, they are probably just a bit fed up with the doom and gloom on this forum when the line up is actually still miles better than almost every festival out there. The only way people can truly vent their frustration if they are not happy is 1) Sell your ticket and don't go 2) Go this year but never go again

    Mad cool have released a statement saying that FNM will not be there. Also i believe that someone on here posted a comment from Mad cool stating QOTSA have not informed them that they aren't playing. That could be BS or could be true. Some part of me hopes QOTSA turn up - not because i want to see them but just so i can come on here after the festival and laugh at everyone getting their knickers in a twist

    They will survive though because for every person who is upset or disappointed or angry about the way they operate, there are 2 people who don’t know or care. Im not defending them and not saying it’s right but for anyone who goes to a festival for line ups alone - this will always be in the top 3 in Europe. Im going this year for my step son who loves loads of bands there and can not go alone as he is autistic. Generally I’d look for a lot more from a festival in terms of both cooperation with the fans and things to do on site. It may happen over a long time but I think for the next few years max cool will continue to sell out on line up alone.

    If anyone is looking for new bands at Victorious - I'd recommend Honeyglaze who are playing on the Sunday Well worth catching if you get the chance

    After speaking to Mad Cool organisers they have confirmed to me this morning that there has been some confusion around QOTSA. The booking is actually for Christine and the Queens of the Stone Age as seen in the promotional poster below…..

    I agree it’s not great, still shows FNM on their “line up” section on Instagram as well as other bands who won’t be there. I’d imagine that although updates have not been forthcoming, they have legal teams who know what they can and can’t get away with…… doesn’t make it morally correct though. The only way it will change would be if people didn’t go, but that won’t happen. It just won’t. It’s not really about defending them, their efforts this year are shoddy and have been every year prior to this. Im just being pragmatic in the fact that I’ll still be going and it will still be a sell out.

    I'm worried now - i ordered through the official Mad Cool website but my tickets were emailed to me right there and then! Does anyone else have print off copies of tickets?

    I’d also add - I wouldn’t be surprised if the venue did change - this is mad cool after all. Didnt it happen with Dr Music festival a few years back - supposed to take place in a beautiful mountain setting and then took place at a race track?

    The above is copied and pasted directly from my tickets. All of the rumours based around the site moving were from this forum when they said there would be an announcement that would "change the way we see the festival forever" Everyone presumed this would be a change of venue and drummed up a following around this - like a Chinese whisper - it grew louder. Then they added a 5th Day (the big change) and placed the address on the tickets (as i have just shown above) that the festival is taking place exactly where its been since 2018! The same happened with everyone bemoaning Bruce Springsteen "pulling out" when he was NEVER announced in the first place I've been on these forums since around 2003 and people seem to take everything on here 10 times more literally than they used to.

    They wont care and it will sell out. This year is not abnormal - its been like this every year, yet the following year they sell out. I know there are a few people who won't buy tickets out of principle but for every one person who doesn't go next year, there are 100 more who will buy tickets. Even this year I know 20 people who are going, that are not on these forums and they are so excited, unaware of the sh*t storm that we all know about because we are on these forums. It's not the way to do things, we can all agree but it wont change the way they operate

    Yeah I know, every point he makes is valid - I was just doing a pun on his name 👌🤣 I fully agree that it’s a shambles but it’s the same every year yet it sells out every year. basically all I have done is commented on every Facebook post they place stating “why do you still have bands on the poster that won’t be there such as………blah blah blah” I know I won’t get a formal response but at least it’s there for others to see and gives them some idea of what to expect. My latest comment on Facebook got a lot of replies and likes and shocked faces so at least I’m doing my bit 💪🏼
