  1. The fact of whether you think the albums are ‘average at best’ is wholly subjective. It doesn’t change the fact that objectively, both went to #1 still, resulted in large arena tours and festival headline slots. Subjectively, Metallica have released nothing of note since Reload. However, objectively, they are still the biggest metal band on the planet. Also, for what it’s worth, the last album was pretty much unanimously cited as far, far better than Ellipsis.
  2. I think we were both replying to someone else 🙂
  3. That would be a really nice booking. I’m certainly expecting Loathe to take one of the slots.
  4. They’re not. I know I’m a massive fan but Biffy are as big now as they have been at any time in the last decade. I guess that the #1 albums after #1 albums, arena tours after arena tours, major festival headline slots after major festival headline slots aren’t evidence enough?
  5. Arsenal supposedly on the verge of signing Aaron Ramsdale for £30m… spending that much money on a 2nd choice keeper when we need a creative midfielder… why?
  6. YUNGBLUD tweeted a couple of months ago that he has some surprises lined up for his sets at R&L and last night he brought out Oli Sykes in London to do Obey so I’m wagering that he will do the same at the festival. Song’s a banger so I’ll be really happy if it happens.
  7. TDCC and The Wombats are massive, massive bands who always pull giant crowds at the festival. There will be tens of thousands of people wanting to see both. I know R&L has a very young audience but some people really have taken the idea of the crowd at large not caring about the bands who are playing a bit too far. They’re playing those high positions for a reason.
  8. I’ve just listened to Alfie Templeman for the first time and I properly love it.
  9. Sports Team Beabadoobee Machine Gun Kelly Alfie Templeman
  10. Where are we thinking for Frank Carter’s supposed secret set then?
  11. Salem as a secret set would be majorly underwhelming. They’re a tiny band as it is.

    Billie Eilish

I’m pretty sure eFests published an article about receiving information that those three were definitely headlining? I am certain I remember that being the case at the time.

Weren’t Elbow, Fleetwood Mac and Depeche Mode all dead certs to headline one year and then none of them ended up doing it (Elbow subbed, iirc)?
  14. They should move KennyHoopla to The Pit and add a heavy British band.
  15. Malevolence. Really hoping that City Morgue don’t pull but I can also see it coming.
  16. Oh, really? Damn. One of my mates really wanted to see them.
  17. Nothing But Thieves City Morgue Post Malone Ho99o9
  18. Jesus, I’ve just seen that news. Genuinely gutting. I was really looking forward to their set.
  19. There will be plenty of people, myself included, who have many, many back to back acts they want to see. Regardless of whether this is the case, it is an issue if the stages are too far apart. Advertising no clashes and then having the Main Stages more than a couple of minutes walk away from each other defeats the object of no clashes. You’re going to have tens of thousands of people migrating across the arena between every set. I maintain that side-by-side stages would have worked better.
  20. I highly doubt that he will never appear with Gallows again. Let alone at a festival where most people wouldn’t even care.
  21. I’m still fancying Architects.
  22. TIE BREAKER - SLOWTHAI Liam Gallagher Niko B Creeper Neck Deep
  23. People in America love The Smiths. People in America don’t know who Oasis are.
