  1. Bummed out I’m back at school doing training days those days otherwise I would have been well up for a stopover in London for the night.
  2. Liam Gallagher Creeper cleopatrick Easy Life
  3. The joy of subjectivity! Someone seems to get it, at least 😉
  4. The fact of whether you think the albums are ‘average at best’ is wholly subjective. It doesn’t change the fact that objectively, both went to #1 still, resulted in large arena tours and festival headline slots. Subjectively, Metallica have released nothing of note since Reload. However, objectively, they are still the biggest metal band on the planet. Also, for what it’s worth, the last album was pretty much unanimously cited as far, far better than Ellipsis.
  5. I think we were both replying to someone else 🙂
  6. That would be a really nice booking. I’m certainly expecting Loathe to take one of the slots.
  7. They’re not. I know I’m a massive fan but Biffy are as big now as they have been at any time in the last decade. I guess that the #1 albums after #1 albums, arena tours after arena tours, major festival headline slots after major festival headline slots aren’t evidence enough?
  8. Arsenal supposedly on the verge of signing Aaron Ramsdale for £30m… spending that much money on a 2nd choice keeper when we need a creative midfielder… why?
  9. YUNGBLUD tweeted a couple of months ago that he has some surprises lined up for his sets at R&L and last night he brought out Oli Sykes in London to do Obey so I’m wagering that he will do the same at the festival. Song’s a banger so I’ll be really happy if it happens.
  10. TDCC and The Wombats are massive, massive bands who always pull giant crowds at the festival. There will be tens of thousands of people wanting to see both. I know R&L has a very young audience but some people really have taken the idea of the crowd at large not caring about the bands who are playing a bit too far. They’re playing those high positions for a reason.
  11. With the amount of time we all have on our hands, I thought it might be fun to think back over the years we have all been to R&L and rank the Main Stage headline sets we’ve seen. I’m only counting headline sets I saw at least half of. For example, I can’t count MCR in 2011 as I didn’t see enough of them, and in 2017 I didn’t watch any headliner for longer than 10-15 minutes. I’ve been to Leeds 2010-2019 (2010, 2011 & 2018 were day tickets only) so I’ve seen a fair few headliners. Here’s my ranking: 1. Biffy Clyro (2013) 2. The 1975 (2019) 3. Paramore (2014) 4. Metallica (2015) 5. Foals (2016) 6. Queens Of The Stone Age (2014) 7. Blink-182 (2010) 8. Kasabian (2012) 9. Foo Fighters (2012) 10. The Cure (2012) 11. Biffy Clyro (2016) 12. Blink-182 (2014) 13. Fall Out Boy (2018) 14. The Libertines (2015) 15. Green Day (2013) 16. Arctic Monkeys (2014) 17. Eminem (2013) 18. Foo Fighters (2019) 19. Red Hot Chili Peppers (2016)
