  1. Not sure it will be The Walkmen. Feels like one that GM and EOTR are unlikely to share. The timings always were perfect for them to play EOTR and it was surprising when they weren't announced, so why would that change now? GM has sold out, EOTR hasn't. Announcing The Walkmen might be the act that shifts the last tickets, so why hold them back?
  2. Going to take the Bodega clash/crush fear out of the equation by seeing them in Margate the week or so before, but I do love them, so won't write off seeing them again at EOTR. Midway up the bill on the Woods last time, and pulled a huge crowd. The Boat Stage seems like a really misguided place to put them
  3. They seemed to be popping up, playing free shows everywhere a few months ago. I got invited to the one in Ramsgate, but I either couldn't make it or muster up the enthusiasm for the drive that night. Just listened to the single, and it's alright, but the industry push is quite remarkable. Could be a bit like when Catfish & The Bottlemen rocked up at EOTR. Totally out of place.
  4. Presumably The Last Dinner Party.
  5. Yeah, they need to sort out the accessibility of that Boat Stage. Couldn't get anywhere near it to see anyone last year. I wonder if the renaming of the Tipi is as a result of this, maybe things getting shuffled around a bit? Some horrible clashes, especially Wilco up against HMLTD on the Thursday and the, as expected, Ezra vs King Gizz clash. Hoping the Panda Bear show will be after the Woods/Garden headliners, seems to be a standard approach, but with the DJs on the splits, I'm not so sure now
  6. Yeah, it was lovely. Unusual for me to actually get a gig I can walk to (albeit it taking me an hour each way). We got Roll Bus Roll too, along with Sad Screaming Old Man and short films for The Great Gatsby, History of Communism and his "After Dark" porno. He also complemented me on my Ramsgate Music Hall t-shirt and said he plans to get back there on the next tour. I'm off to Margate tonight for Anna B Savage
  7. Jeffrey Lewis definitely not playing as I asked him when I saw him in Rochester a couple of weeks ago.
  8. Really wish she was playing, but sadly not
  9. Never done Visions before, but rarely get the chance to see Spiritualized for under 30 quid these days, so I've booked. Going to need a playlist for most of the bill, as so many are new names to me.
  10. Would love to have Bodega and Hamish Hawk, but I think the chances are slim if they haven't already been announced. Also want Takeshi's Cashew. No idea what they sound like, but I love the name.
  11. I played that King Tuff album when it was released, but it didn't sink in. "How I Love" added to the EOTR playlist and it it's just come on. I'm imagining those chilled-out vibes washing over me on a sunny day in Larmer Tree Gardens and having a right good time
  12. We've still got "Apply To Play" winners to be announced, so likely a handful of additional acts (don't expect anything big), literary stuff and comedy. And most importantly, the food vendors!
  13. Unlikely to happen until late summer. Probably July, with the stage times the week before the actual festival
  14. Predictions, hopes or something you've heard?
  15. Just saw that and was thinking the same. EOTR seems unlikely based on dates, but here's hoping!
  16. Just seen it myself and definitely interested. It's local-ish, so always feels like I should try and attend
  17. Bloody love Squid and would have them back in a heartbeat. Easily my favourite set of the 2021 festival.
  18. I would say so. They're at that Garden-headliner stage now, certainly after how well they went down last time they played, and I can't see those level acts being shared.
  19. Sorry to be a pedant, but Jarvis was actually up against Metronomy. I know this because I saw both Jarvis and Michael. I think using this forum as a barometer of how popular Future Islands will be is also a bit iffy. They will draw a decent crowd, even if us musos are less enthused about their booking (I do actually really like them and will watch if there is no-one else I want to see clashing)
  20. That's the one thing EOTR is lacking. More caves are required
  21. As I've just mentioned her in the line-up thread:
  22. First discovery of the line-up: Laura Jean For those who love/like Cassandra Jenkins. Slightly more instrumentation, but just lovely. She's on the list!
  23. I loved what I saw of caroline last time they played, but I have subsequently seen them perform in a cave and I fear they won't be able to match that.
