  1. I think a lot of fun was had with the guessing as to who it would be but in the end it wasn't great due to how poorly attended other sets being played at the same time were. I felt so sorry Samia, who played a brilliant set to very few people. So yeah, I'm not keen on it. I'd probably change my tune were it to happen again and it was someone I actually wanted to see though
  2. Never been but that is about as good a line-up (for my tastes) that I've ever seen for Bearded. So much that is right in my wheelhouse. I can't justify the cost of doing two festivals in a year (I am an End of the Road regular), but would be all over that if money was no object.
  3. It's all just getting a little snarky in here. Play nice everyone. We're all going to have fun at a fantastic festival.
  4. Mate, don't make it personal. They are well within their rights to express frustration that a band that, I assume, is one of their faves is getting a bit of a pile-on.
  5. Yep, I am not fan of Idles, they do nothing for me. But I can guarantee that they will pull a massive crowd, and fair play to all those who do go and see them and have a great time. I'm not sure I agree with the "£240 for a good lineup" statement. A "good lineup" is subjective. For many people, Idles being on the bill does constitute a "good lineup". Who are we to say that their inclusion makes it bad?
  6. And yeah, you're right, there's more stuff up there than I thought. All the Palace stuff, Superwolf and the latest album.
  7. Yeah, the last time I saw him was solo at the Union Chapel (Simon was there, unsurprisingly). It looks like recent setlists have been heavily drawing from the latest album, but who knows what sort of set we'll get in the autumn! https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/bonnie-prince-billy/2024/alexis-and-jim-pugh-theater-orlando-fl-43aca7e7.html
  8. Well, he's not on Spotify, so you'll have to dig. His "magnum opus" is "I See A Darkness" (the album), but he's prolific. I would also check out The Letting Go, Wolfroy Goes To Town and Ease Down The Road. Also check out his earlier stuff as "Palace Brothers/Music" as he'll probably play some of that too
  9. I thought you'd be especially pleased with one specific act based on your username!
  10. I have pretty much zero interest in seeing Idles, but I think I'll be ok with the other 100 odd acts on the bill
  11. They played ATP once because I saw them there
  12. I know for a fact that someone on the team (he has to listen to all the "apply to play" acts and decide on them) is a massive fan and has been hoping for them to play for years. I'm praying he's finally got his way!
  13. Love how some in here appear to be writing off the line-up before it's even announced. If it is anything like last year I will have a stacked "must see" list with clashes all over the place. Bring it on!
  14. I have no idea who or what Turnstile is
  15. I'm pretty convinced that Big Thief will be one of them because of the cancelled 2020 headline slot. I still don't think PJ Harvey is impossible, but wouldn't bet my house on it. Don't know though. One thing EOTR has been very good at in recent years is being pretty unpredictable.
  16. I was going to say that YLT have done the Thursday headline slot in the past couple of years but it was actually 2018. Seems much more recent than that. That said, I'd be surprised if they were back so soon. As headliners anyway
  17. Cat Power has played before (the Animal Collective year), so she won't be the one being ticked off the list this year.
  18. There are two elements. There will be loads of real ales, all of which I think are localish (i.e. Dorset, Wiltshire, Somerset, etc.), and there will also be a brewery take-over that supplies the more "crafty" options. In the past we've had Beavertown (before the Heineken takeover), and Two Tribes. Last year it was Lost & Grounded, who also brought loads of guests with them. Certainly no big international breweries. There are also cocktail bars and a G&T bar. And, of course, you can take your own booze with you anywhere on site, so long as it's not in glass
  19. Normally get the first announcement around the end of January/beginning of February. It normally covers around 80% of the line-up, with drip feeds of additions/replacements every couple of months after that. This will include speakers for the literary stage, comedians and the cinema tent. Around July you'll get the stage splits and then in August you get the all important message about the food and drink stalls.
  20. BCNR could easily headline the Garden Stage and I, for one, would welcome it.
  21. Any negative reviews would be unfair. She was plagued with technical difficulties and just gave up in the end after about 2/3 songs. Gutted because she was one of my "must sees" that weekend. Would love her to come back because that latest album is a beauty.
  22. I did but it's all over the place, literally one chorus and you can hear my own caterwauling. I shall not be posting it
  23. I mean, they seem nailed on with their 2020 headline slot being cancelled. Another new album inbound. And an excellent response to the gender imbalance criticism. I'd certainly welcome them.
  24. 1:30am is a late night as far as I'm concerned! 😁
  25. Catheters fitted to every attendee upon arrival. Toilets are for dumps only.
