  1. Not for the Woods headliner, but they will certainly be given a shot at the Garden Stage before long.
  2. Neither would I, just that I am a fan of all three. But you could, for example, see them on the bill at Victorious or Isle of Wight.
  3. I loved The Mary Wallopers. I was close to tears due to the sheer joy their set brought to so many people.
  4. As much as I am a fan of James, Ash and Suede, they are not acts that fit the EOTR template. There are places for those bands all over the summer festival season, and none of those places are EOTR. You've also got to factor in that the line-up is very much curated by Simon. You can almost trace his evolving taste in music over EOTR's lifespan, and you will often get acts given a leg-up to headliner status because he think's they're worthy of it, not necessarily because they have sold the most records. Finally, I know for a fact, from speaking to someone involved with the festival, that they don't want to book acts with a "following" so to speak. The Mac Demarco year saw a very different demographic descend on the festival who were there purely for him. So the likes of boygenius/Phoebe Bridgers, probably even Mitski now, wouldn't necessarily be booked because of that regardless of cost. So I often wonder if Nick Cave would be out for a similar sort of reason. A different set of fans, but certainly a very specific set of fans. (again, ignoring the logistics of cost, etc.) The talk of The National being "too big" because they've sold out two nights at Ally Pally...haven't Future Islands just done the very same thing?
  5. I got an email from Ramsgate Music Hall saying they've been offered a show and were canvassing us members to see what sort of take up there would be. Obviously I answered that I'd be there with bells on. He's obviously going to be touring over here though
  6. There are no physical tickets. Just print them out or save a screenshot on your phone
  7. One year, as we sat by our tent, having a couple of beers, we spotted this bloke just standing around, scratching his head and looking bewildered. He'd clearly lost his tent, but his demeanor amused as somewhat. Eventually he seemed to track it down and proceeded to rummage through it, arse-crack exposed to the world. Like a bear digging for honey (not sure this is a real thing), we were creasing up (little things for little minds) and he was soon nicknamed "The Quizzical Bear". Saw him again the following year, much to our amusement, but he doesn't seem to have returned. Strongly believe that that patch of earth in General Camping that looks like a grave is where he is buried. It's what he would have wanted
  8. 😂 I'm expecting to find Pringles crumbs in mine from last year!
  9. Oh no, I was thinking further back than that. 2008 was my first year, and I don't think the stage was even that big then! If I did see The Low Anthem in there, it would have been 2009, and f**k knows who I saw in 2008. Definitely no-one on the Saturday as I remember I was falling asleep on my feet during Shearwater, so I sensibly called it a night after them. I mean, it was probably Woodpigeon. They seemed to be ubiquitous that year.
  10. I think we saw The Low Anthem in there, but like you it would have been very late and I would have been somewhat pissed. Definitely saw a couple of acts in there but my memory is hazy. And I say "saw", but I never got close enough to the action.
  11. No, it's just an image. The same as the Woods Stage isn't actually shaped like a Peacock. I'll be stunned if it isn't exactly as it has been for the past few years and has simply been renamed. Possibly to avoid accusations of cultural appropriation or simply because it's not actually a Tipi anymore. It used to be, a loooooong time ago. Those actual tipis with the rum bar and seating area next door used to host a "stage"
  12. Just logged on my Ticketsellers account and both are in there, ready to download. Have also just looked at Twickets out of interest. Wow! There are a lot for sale. We've got a mate who isn't coming this year because he thought his daughter would be starting secondary school on the Monday, but she isn't starting until the Tuesday. Going to tell him to keep an eye out for bargains.
  13. I would like to point out that I was very much joking about Michael Stipe, but oh boy, what a coup that would be!
  14. Sorry, I knew it was Cardiff on the Thursday, my eyes must have broke as I read Deer Shed and Cardiff on the same line. It's been a long day.
  15. Yeah, I was being slightly sarcastic. I would only expect a TLOBF Piano set. You're not going to get a late night Folly set from a headliner. It's not like she's around all weekend due to Manchester and Dear Shed in the days before, so she'd have to effectively play them back-to-back. Not going to happen, especially with health concerns
  16. Think we're all just banking on Ezra playing a gazillion secret sets like she did last time
  17. Along with another 12 copies of that weird Scientology book that was given away for free several years ago
  18. Yeah, but I'm never going to read that copy of Gravity's Rainbow I bought from him
  19. Surprising "Being There" heavy set. A fantastic mix though. Pretty much all the "hits" you'd want to hear! https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/wilco/2023/grote-kaai-lokeren-belgium-3a45ddb.html
  20. I don't think you can read too much into them. They've such a huge back-catalogue and always mix up their sets. Will be interested to see how much material from the new album gets a run out though
  21. I am fully on board with NOT packing shorts, sunglasses and a hat, as per last year. Pretty sure I was responsible for the excellent weather because of that decision, so you can all thank me for that. Hoping to repeat the trick this year.
  22. It was Central Tickets, but I don't think there are any left. Went on sale last Friday
