  1. Wilco have pretty close ties with EOTR having played as a band and Jeff solo in the past. Plus that Schmilco album playback in the Tipi that time. I don't don't know how much that has to do with Rich Thane of TLOBF as I know he is a MASSIVE fan. If he's in any way involved in the bookings outside of the TLOBF involvement, then they'll certainly be in with a shout.
  2. They have played before and Hamilton was part of the No Other Band the year that was put on, Peter Matthew Bauer has also played. So they have ties and obvious fans amongst the organisers. Obviously no news about any shows other than the New York ones at the moment, so who knows whether they'll even come over to these shores, but here's hoping!
  3. Come on Walkman reformation. You know which UK festival you want to play!
  4. Sparks were my number one request on the survey that came out after this year's fest. Me and my mates would love it!
  5. Local Natives are back with a new single. Can we have them back please as I missed them last time due to the pissing rain?
  6. New Caitlin Rose single has dropped. Would be lovely to have her back
  7. Keep thinking back to that Pixies set and I think any disappointment must surely come from how strangely sequenced it was. They played 29 songs, only 8/9 of which were from the post-reunion albums. Maybe it was just that run of about 5 in the middle of the set that just killed all momentum? There's not many songs they didn't play that really could have changed people's perceptions. As for The Chisel. Yeah, not my bag at all, but I absolutely loved it when the pit started and that older bloke with the mohawk kept trying to join in, but would then stumble out after 10 seconds gasping for breath. Fair play to him for trying to keep up with the youth, but you've got to know when your time is done 😂
  8. No bigger but probably more expensive. It's not like they've been playing regularly for the past however many years, so I imagine they'd command quite a high price.
  9. Sparks, Deathheaven, Jens Lekman, CMAT, Genesis Owusu, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Self Esteem, Half Man Half Biscuit, Phosphorescent. That'll do for now, without repeating plenty I'd love to see that have already been mentioned. Early bird purchased
  10. I'm not going but this is bad news for Low fans, but more particularly for Mimi:
  11. It was HOT at EOTR last year, despite forecasts in the days prior to it being for ordinary September weather. Don't get me wrong, I'm as guilty of looking at long-range forecasts as the next man, but there is very little we can read into them. What I do know is that if this year, there is even the remotest chance of warm weather, I'm remembering my shorts and hat this year!
  12. Yeah, as much as I like that Pizza Party Rock track (and I insisted that the mates I'm going with check it out), I think you're right that it's a different band. The EOTR website description doesn't align: FAT DOG Formed during lockdown, Fat Dog have played around London for a solid year now – putting in the blood, sweat and tears necessary to hone their sound: a furious blast of full-out rock n’ roll, laced over futuristic synth. Urgent and sharp, a strong backbeat layered with siren-song calculated to intoxicate even the most tech-warped minds. Go see it for yourself.
  13. I saw HighSchool at that Leisure festival in Margate and they were excellent. Definitely a good recommendation there, @domjon
  14. Hope you didn't have any work to do today @SweepingTheNation 😂
  15. It makes a bit of sense. It's a dead space during the day, and it gets all the live stuff out of the way before the DJs start.
  16. I'm really finding it hard to drag myself away from that Garden Stage all weekend, but there is so much other great stuff scattered all over the other stages. Some really tough calls are going to have to be made.
  17. Oh man, that Friday on the Garden Stage. I could end up being one of those camping chair w*nkers. Literally want to see everyone on there. And that Pigsx7 slot in the Tipi on Thursday is going to be RAMMED
  18. Bonnie "Prince" Billy, he seems to be the obvious candidate. There are a few that are simply out of reach, Tom Waits immediately springs to mind, I'd throw The National and Nick Cave into that pot too. Pavement are a good shout, but they seem to be going where the money is.
  19. I can't say too much because we camped in our usual spot at the top of the hill near the Tipi tent, but it certainly felt more congested there than previous years, I would put this down to more camping area allocated to boutique. Just out of interest, where are you seeing this year's map? I'm surprised that they've published it already.
  20. Not sure Black Flag are suited to this festival
  21. Went to see JOHN last night after seeing them at EOTR. Still as visceral and amazing. Also thinking of going to see Anna B Savage in Margate in the next couple of weeks
  22. I agree with this, although the copies of Gravity's Rainbow and The Great Shark Hunt that have been sitting on my shelves for years probably wouldn't agree. Curse you drunken book buying!
  23. Did anyone else see Matthew Baynton from Horrible Histories/Ghosts as a punter? Or did he just have a doppelganger hanging around?
