Driving from Sunderland to East carparks / CV fields

Hello

Trying to plan the best driving route from the North East (Sunderland) down to the East car parks? We're meeting friends in the Camper Van fields, so makes sense to park on the East. Last year, we camped in Pylon, and stayed in the West car parks, via the M6. I think I need to take the M1 all the way down to the M25, then cut across that way?

Advice on the official glastonbury site is a bit rubbish... so I'll gladly take any advice from you lovely ladies and gents!

The other option being missing out the whole A43 - M40 - A43 and just continue straight down M1 to the M25 and onto M3 - https://goo.gl/maps/DdNHd

I'm not great at planning distance driving. All I need to be is on the East of the site!!!!
