  1. Why is this making people angry. If a band you like wanna bring on a special guest, who you may also like....fine innit. Just a bit of glasto fun, that's all. Anyway, I'll say Mary Wallopers with Spider Stacey
  2. Throwing in another vote for Fat White Family! Get into the top 10 songs they are most likely to play on setlist fm. Their live gigs tend to be an experience too. Also yeah i absolutely love Drenge, come back lads.
  3. Each to their own - personally I think a combination of 'embrace', and also book something that weekend (a little holiday?) that makes you almost 'glad' you're not going to glasto. Something that you come back from going "that weekend was great, and I wouldn't have experienced that had I gone to glasto". By the 'embrace' element, I mean - feel free to whack on a headliner in your holiday home, with your mates, catch up on iplayer sets later in the month...and just be grateful for the positives, that you're not camping in the cold and that you will be going to glasto at some point again in the future! Personally it'd feel worse if for me if I pretended it wasn't happening. i think the party with your mates and a projector fits the bill on both accounts tbh - have a good laugh with your mates and enjoy the glasto music!
  4. Everywhere does contactless but bring cash (or prepare to withdraw some for like a £3 charge) - the contactless system went down for half the bars/shops in 2022, and a single round of beer/food for a few people is a fair whack on the old wallet! As others have said, get a decent power bank, mine probably has about 7 or 8 full phone charges in it, gets me through the weekend (and also useful for future travelling!) And yeah it got noticeably busier from 2022 onwards - especially aim to get there early for any bands you wanna see on Pyramid or Other, instead of rocking up 5 mins before, if you care about not being right at the back.
  5. Just going on pure anecdotal stories and my own half formed observations/bollocks, the last 2 years being all timers (weather + big headliners) has done nothing to help reduce demand. Last 2 ticket sales have certainly been the hardest for my extended group - gone from consistent 100% success rate in the mid-2010s to only a minority now managing. I suppose once you go to glasto once, you probably want to go every year from then on. Probably more of these people each year than old timers who decide to 'retire'. Basically we need a few years in a row of complete stinkers, who's in?!
  6. Where's the evidence for this though? Beyond conspiracy theories about Liverpool made up on here. Is it not more difficult because there is more demand than ten years ago?
  7. Re Chinese bots. Did that definitely happen? I've seen no evidence that happened. Is that just random speculation? genuine question. Re. being allocated a place in a queue - will that be less fair, as in people will utilise bots/vpns to have a million devices attempting to join a queue at the same time? (forgive my lack of technical speak/knowledge) Re. it favouring big groups - yes, but that's part of the determination/effort surely? None of us actually know 70 people who are going, but spending time connecting with friends of friends, joining facebook groups/forums to increase your group size....yeah that's a huge ballache to do, but that's part of why the current system is the least worst, no? It rewards ballache!
  8. 10 beers deep by 6pm. Then onto the shots to keep you going through the headliner. Gives you 2 or 3 hours to empty your bladder, should see you through a 2 hour headliner set.
  9. If it's just you three, and you've no strong opinions on where to camp, you can set off at a normal time Wednesday and aim to get there for lunchtime - this is normally the time I arrive and there's never a queue, you just stroll through. Though I normally have friends who have arrived a couple of hours earlier and have vaguely saved me a tent space, however there's campsites with enough space for 3 tents in various parts. I have a tiny car and we've fit three of us in the past but it's been painfully difficult to squeeze all stuff in. Can be done if the three includes the driver, but it won't be comfortable for passengers with stuff piled on their knees 😄
  10. it is, but a) i imagine it's one of the ways of encouraging more people onto public transport b) driving including petrol cheaper than coach from pretty much everywhere if you're sharing with at least 1 other person of course the cheapest option would be make your own way via megabuses/shuttle from castle cary or whatever but....effort and that
  11. I’m not a big tent person, I’m all about convenience. Can’t recommend my fresh and black 3 man (I got the slightly larger size) enough. Just me in it and felt quite luxurious, can sit in it (not stand), pops up in seconds, tent was hot on a morning but not the sauna other tents become, and no more difficult to put down than every other small tent I’ve ever had (practice a couple of times in the garden so you know what you’re doing). Has a porch. Only did 2023 so not tested in the rain but of course it will be bone dry this year 😉
  12. I'd also say Kneecap if we're looking for 'edge'. Heilung aren't going down well at party in the park either.
  13. Ha yeah totally get that. Even though I've found in the past few weeks listening to spoken word German over battle sounds for 8 minutes does get me weirdly pumped up for a day in the office
  14. To add yet another two penneth, personally the top half of the lineup doesn't look inspiring, but when I delve into the bottom half there's some of my favourite acts, and I've counted a higher than average amount I want to see for a first poster drop. So I guess that means I think the lineup is good? But the general public will just look at the poster at a glance (so the three headliners plus a few more near the top) and think it's sh*t. But you know what, great, I want people to think that, any marginal gains I can take on ticket day if a few hundred thousand less try for tickets next year 😛 I don't think there's anything Glastonbury/Emily aren't doing that they should be, I think it's just got slightly lower hype because this year there's no Elton or Macca. Imagine the exact same lineup with Stevie W instead of SZA - I think we'd be seeing similar excitement levels to the last 2 years. I do wonder if dividing by stages has a negative impact on the perceived poster quality? IMO the Pyramid stage lineup on its own never really 'inspires', so grouping them all together right at the top might make the whole thing look worse. And I know this doesn't sound believable but I sometimes actively hope for bad lineups so I can enjoy all the other glasto delights without silly bands getting in the way.... Man i do like to write essays on the rare occasions I post. In conclusion I can't wait and I wake up every day looking forward to another great glasto 😄
  15. proper mad sh*t isn't it. I love it. Working my way backwards through the 3 albums. Sunset slot would be great, I feel it my be too much for an early afternoon hangover.
