Was anyone there? 22:00 on Sunday night. I dashed across the site, somehow making it to the Park after the post-Nick Cave crush by 21.15. Such is my dedication.

It was magic. I've seen him a few times before, but never have I seen him this jokey, this happy. And his backing band, despite obviously being very, very drunk, were rollicking and electric.

He had, on bass, the original bassist from The Beta Band, who played on the first of The 3 EPs when Lone Pigeon was still a member. And they played Dry The Rain! One of the most uplifting songs ever written, played in a rustic and cosy shack with a small yet ebullient crowd - some of whom were dancing on the tables - with the entire site glittering behind us - THAT was my "Glastonbury moment".

And best of all, I got to meet him beforehand!

I saw his set at the Park which was class.

I was gutted he didn't play Dry The Rain in the park. So i'm very upset I missed this. He's just announced a tour so hopefully I'll be seeing him again in Bristol

He was an old guy, beardy, with a Police Line guitar strap. Steve kept referring to him as an anarchist.

Yeah that's him, made me laugh during the ultra long soudcheck before the Park set by saying "this really doesn't matter" after saying "1-2" a million tines
