Showers?

Yes, there's loads of threads on it if you do a search, but there's definitely showers in the Greeenpeace field and the kids field. I personally have never felt the need, use wet wipes or boil some water on the small stove we always take and have a strip wash in the tent.

there are showers on site, but i've never used them myself. I believe they are communal split by gender, and the queues can be long. But you're usually alright if you go at quieter times (early mornings etc).

Personally I just stick to a simple bowl of water and some soap, or the wet wipes for a freshen up.

Personally don't see the need. Best case scenario is you are going to spend an hour. More than likely 2.5+ waiting in a queue. Really would not want to waste that amount of time.

You can keep hygenic with wet wipes and hand gel, and I usually wash my (short) hair and have a shave with a few pints of water.

Ok - so you're never going to smell rosy, but everyone is in the same boat. Just get on with it.

never used the kids fields showers but the greenpeace ones give you a ticket to come back at a particular time-slot. from that point i've never waited more than about 15 minutes, usually go down, grab a ticket, get some breakfast/read the paper etc and then head back.

last year they had some lovely comfy deckchairs and things for lounging in while you wait (and they're right by some of the best breakfast venues in the place)

they're not 24 hours - not sure what the hours are but suspect it's about 7am onwards

I've always avoided queues - I go to the green peace ones mid afternoon and always walked straight in. I really don't care THAT much to queue for a shower, but as it's pretty close to where I normally camp, not a big thing when there's no queue.

They are communal segregated by gender.

Those are the only showers I've used, but... they run off solar stuff and a wood-chip burner, aren't always the hottest.

Also, you have to use their environmentally friendly soap stuff and aren't allowed your own. Don't know the rules for the others.

However yes, from what I understand of CT, shouldn't be far.
