Gate A

Gate A is the one serving those coming by bus and train, NW end of the site.

I'm wondering if it's worth the extra distance from the car parks, to get in without serious queueing around 8-9am on the Wednesday.

So if you came on the Wednesday through gate A last year, when was this, and how long were you queueing?

& if you came by car and still went through gate A to get in, which car park and what route? Map

Cheers :D

I posted something very similar dude a couple days ago. Gate D was awful last year, can't do that again. Thinking of doing this myself but not sure on the path to take from the car park next to gate D to gate A? Also was it the football that made the queues so bad or was it the fact that they let people enter the car parks from 9:00pm Tuesday. Only time will tell I think. But if D Is the same as last year I will defo be heading to gate A!!!!

They do learn from the mistakes of previous years, though, so the problems that will be encountered this year will be different to those of last year! Trying to get 100,000 (ish) people through 4 gates in the space of a few hours is bound to cause problems.

I was parked the other side of the road last year, on the thursday, and the pedestrian route in was on what I think is called "orange route" on the map. There is a red line separating W33 and W34 and this was pretty much the path you followed to get to Gate A which is what I did last year as my tent was in the new area described this year as "pylon ground" - those areas down to Bushy Ground were all a good place to camp, with a cut through to the Dance Village via the pink line next to BBC introducing.

Hope this helps

So not coming via car, and having to use the bus/shuttle, on Wednesday morning, might be a good thing. We want to camp at CT, and so even though it will mean carrying our stuff a distance once we're in, at least we'll be able to get In, as opposed to waiting at a car park entrance for 2+ hours possibly.

My next goal is to get to the entrance before the National Express buses start arriving, as well as the first train from London.

Last year we were in the west car parks on the opposite side of the road to the site. The stewards tried to send us across the road with everyone else but we went straight up the main road and straight in gate A, no queues no hassle.

Hey

I've come in through Gate A off the NatX for 2007 08 09 10 + this year

never a problem getting, no queues at all

I've been arriving 12.30ish

I can only guess that there will be much less people getting in at Gate A at 8am gates opening time

may by worth going on NatX.com and check what time the first bus arrives, becos the Gate will defo be open

I don't know if it is possible to walk from your car park to Gate A

I'm sure I've seen people walking in from the right to join the 'bus' path

See you at CT

Vx

Joined the back of the queue to Gate A at about 6am Wednesday morning, by this time the tails of both queues were merging more or less into one.

Queue for Gate A was huge, gates opened at 8am, queue to Gate A moved well. Eventually got funnelled into a large alley about 15 people wide and about 200 yards long (was rammed) Queue still moved well and was on site by 9.30.
