Tent?

Myself and my wife are 1st timers and are not sure on what size tent we should be taking. Anyone have any tips or opinions on what we should be bringing. We are 25 and 27. Just want to be prepared as the wife is a bit apprehensive about the camping side of things.

Hey, we are a couple and we take a 3-4 man tent, sounds big but as the missus hates camping we have to take a double airbed and all the trimmings!! Makes it alot comfier though and you can get them at dirt cheap prices from tesco and the like. Airbeds are also handy coz the floor is freezing at night!! Plus by the time you get all your clothes/booze/food (if you take any) and all the other stuff in the tent a 2 man just isnt enough!

i got my tent the other day. reduced from £260 to just £60 in the millets sale.

the porch area is massive and tall enough to stand up in. so if the weather is bad this year all my mates will be able to carry on partying in my tent :)

deffo go for a 4 man tent at least if you are a couple.

Yeh we have a 3 man tent for 2 us, but it has 2 porches, so lots of storage space for us! Im the same though! Bit apprehensive about camping as I never have done before, so I got my other half top get us an airbed! He wont be complaining when he gets a comfy night sleep! :D

I would look for a 4 man tent, cus you have beers and clothes to store aswell, 2 man tents normal just fit 2 people in, no storage,

And as for campsite, pretty much any but red, red is dirty loud and just bad... I camped in blue last year and it was fantastic :)

Hope this helped

Get a pop up tent. Soooo easy and quick. The last thing you wanna be doing is faffing about with tent poles etc when there's 1) drinking to be done and 2) you're hungover on Monday morning.

Decathalon is awesome for Quechua tents.

This is the Quechua tent we've got. It's a 3 manner.

They're really good. I didn't have any problems with dampness/condensation or anything like that. The ground sheet stayed dry, likewise the inside skin. And seeing there are 2 skins, it reduces the chances even more of condensation sneaking in.

Ours cost about £45, plus £5 delivery, which wasn't too bad, I don't think.

With regards to the porch area, as you can see in the pictures, there isn't one. It's just the mess inner skin and the outer skin. There's a enough room to leave trainers etc, but that's it really. Not idea. And because of the shape of the door, if it's raining, it rains in a little when you open it. Again, not ideal.

However, Quechua do another pop-up tent which has a porch area and looks pretty good. I kind of wish I'd got this one instead, for the extra £5 it cost.
