2011 Planning

I have said this would be my last Glasto, not that i don't enjoy it but humping all the camping gear even with a couple of sack trucks miles from the car parks is no joke at my age !!!!. But i have sort of had a change of mind and am already thinking of 2011...It will be on my own though as others who came this year have ruled it out with family commitments. So what do i do...A campervan is out of the question on my own as costs don't justify it...Did anyone do the ready set up tents, what are they like is access easy, who hires them out any web sites for info,as it looks my best option, I don't want a trailer tent or caravan as storage would be a huge problem.

Our friends stayed in Tangerine Fields as she is 6 months pregnant - they were very happy with it. Only downside seemed to be the walk back up the hill at the end of each day but it was only 5-10 minutes beyond gate B or C. Cost without any extras was £200 for a 3-man (i.e. 2-man) tent for the Weds to Mon - you can pay extra for blow-up beds, sleeping bags, a bigger tent etc. Said it was 5 mins walk from their car park to the pitch. Although we had a good camping spot in Park Home Ground this year with lovely neighbours, my bf is absolutely insisting we go to Tangerine Fields next year just to avoid the lugging of your stuff and getting there early enough for a good pitch. He must be getting old :P

Sounds just what i need, anyone else use them. Do they have there own car park? Have looked on the website but as Glastonbury now finished very little said about it. It would suit me fine as i could then just arrive on Thursday night or even Friday morning, with no more long waiting in the car. Think i would want tent and sleeping bag for starters, the idea of no more lugging loads up to the Dairy Fields sounds just right to me.

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
