Beer

I'm a little unclear as to the rules and regulations of bringing beer to the festival this year so I have a couple of questions:

A mutual acquaintance told me that you are not allowed to bring beer to the festival and can only purchase it onsite: True of false?

A friend, minutes later, then said you are allowed to bring beer into the festival so long as you don't take it into the arena: True or false?

This same friend then told me that if you are driving, you can put whatever beer you're taking in the boot and just park up in whatever zone you want and leave it there, or alternatively, put it in your tent: True or false?

Oh no! A minor argument has ensued between a mutual acquaintance and my friend. Mutual acquaintance says that security is quite tough and it's best not to risk it with the beer in case it gets confiscated, whereas my friend says that security don't bother checking unless you look underage: Who is correct?

The argument has died down and my friend finally says that I should be able to take beer with me but she didn't know if there was a limit to how much I can take in: If I am allowed beer into the festival, is there a limit?

You can buy beer offsite.

You can leave it in tents, cars whatever.

Security is not strict at all.

There's no limits althought they're bringing in a rule about beer on Sunday to stop the riots, not quite sure of the details though.

You aren't allowed to take alcohol in to the arena. It's not particularly tough to get a can in - especially during busy times - but any more than that would be risky. Security then just tell you to either take it back to your tent, drink it there or throw it away.

Take all the beer you want to the campsite. Pour anything in a glass bottle into a plastic one, and then you dont have to worry.

As for the arena, you can try getting something in, if not you can always just drink it at the gates, so its not too bad.
