While I'm in favour of renationalisation - it's unrealistic to think that it'll automatically end disputes. Regardless of who's running the railways, the management will (correctly) want to do so as efficiently as possible, and the unions will (also correctly) want to get the most they can for their members. Aside from which - the pledge is to bring TOCs back under public control as the contracts come up for renewal so it won't be an overnight fix and will vary by area. Some contracts run until 2032.
