Footwear

We're hoping the pretty decent weather we’ve been having lately will long continue through the next few months & to Aug b/holiday too. Although, anyone got any heads up on footwear best to take with us? (not sure how the CF site is set out as this is our first & what would be best taking with). Cheers!

I always wear an old pair of sturdy Timberland walking trainer things. Obviously depends on the weather conditions but it's a pretty big site and lots of walking can get done. People wear trainers, fluffy boots, wellies and even some girls even wear high heels but these are really not advisable  The site is on a slope as well which makes wandering hard work at times. Best bet is to stick with something comfy, warm, sturdy and, if possible, water resistant. Hope this helps :)

Sweet. Wasn’t planning on doing the heels for sure-i mean, how can you go mad wearing heels in fields to start with?! (plus seen as we have a wk of Ibiza to tackle after this crazy CF w/end, i need to look after my feet!) Have plans to take a few pairs of trainers (not new) along, that i can allow to get destroyed if necessary – that way won’t have to splash any £s on buying wellies :)

Now i know there’s having a laugh, dressing up, etc, but the wearing of heels just puts you into the group of to be laughed at!

Cheers for the info, think it’ll just be a couple of hoodies in my bag with the trainers & the throw away ponchos sound like a worthwhile purchase. Can just stick one of these in my pocket (don’t really fancy carrying a bag around the arena site all day thats all); like you say though hopefully we won’t need to use these. I’ve read about the lockers, how do these work? (like are they close by, safe, can you use over the full w/end to the Mon morning etc?)

Yeah, i’ve seen cloakvroom on the CF site, looks pretty decent. If we wanted to take a bag into the arena but didn’t want the hassle of carrying it all day using them would be a useful option (it's just the secureness we'd be wary of obviously), but as they operate on a wristband policy plus open 24 hrs a day-sounds good. Then say if we buy something for keeps, could stash it with our bag in cloakvroom & collect it later on. Let us know how you get on with the email response

  • 3 weeks later...

Just wear something comfortable but definetaly bring wellies. Ok, the weather might be forcasted good, but you can never tell. It poured down all day and night on the Saturday last year and the campsite was a mud bath and the stalls selling wellies increased their prices a LOT so be warned.

its cos i always seem to pick the arenas with the bogs in the middle of them! i just find i dont come out caked in mud and slide everywear, if i bung some wellies on. :-)

im not camping either this year, booked up in the premier inn down the road after the last creamfields, so well sorted this year! :-) bring it onnnnnnnn

    • Avril gets above GC on rarity (see Cypress Hill this year). She drew in something like 70,000 at Glastonbury, so much so that they had to close the field off. I’d wager that she would get the biggest crowd of the entire weekend if she was to play DL.
    • We've reasonably predicted/wanted a bill of Blink, Avril, Good Charlotte for a while 😅    I'm surprised that Good Charlotte's UK shows in November seem to be doing well atm... obviously if they sell out those venues then they should be subheadliners right? (if they play download that is). They'd only look a strong sub if it was before Blink though I rekn.

    • Well Jason Isbell is on blistering form for this run of European gigs, wonderful night in Bristol
    • I am also interested in this. I was looking for past years, and it looks like it has a limited capacity.  I would love to see Ela Minus, but I guess I won't be able to make it in time, unfortunately.
