I don't own one yet, but seriously thinking about it. I've seen quite of few of the green Base Seconds (not the full) at fesitvals, and I've spoken to a few people about the Base Seconds Full. I've heard nothing but good things.

I very nearly bought a Base Seconds + inner tent last year for my main tent. What really tempts me, is the ventilation, no more tent oven - so I could sleep in. I saw loads of other people at festivals last year with the inner bedroom, also others with just the ground-sheet in. But it's not sewn in, so beetles could come in!

The Base Seconds with inner tent reduces to 180cm in height (5'10"), which is then too short for me to stand, annoyingly. I also think the Base Seconds with inner tent is a fraction too small for two people, there isn't a huge amount of storage space. I mean it's perfectly adequate, but no porch area for wet/muddy gear etc.

The other option is the Base Seconds Full and then sleep in a small pop-up tent (something like an Air to stay cool). The Base Seconds Full then becoming communal area (non-sleeping).

I went through a number of other combinations. Also considered using the Base Seconds as the communal tent for our group, with little pop-ups surrounding. After a while I decided that Quechua must be releasing something new in 2009, so decided to hold-off. It looks like they have only released the *huge* Base XL.

I'm still undecided; but, I really like the idea of sleeping in the Base Seconds, and I think I could sleep in it during the day, there is so much ventilation. That will probably be the overriding factor for me.

...inner tent useful when used as a communal area in worse weather) I realised that I used the same set up with just the ground sheet at both V festival and Leeds last year that had significantly worse weather than Glasto and the tent remained perfectly dry inside.

I've got exactly one of these, been coming to glasto since 2004, has had my kit and my mates when his crabby trolley broke, good pneumatic tyres are the answer, as long as the weldings good on the axle then it should be fine.
