that route is closed from 8am and becomes local traffic only - we normally go past around 6am and tends to be okay, think it was only the 1st year in 2010 they tried t put us there but we managed to get them to let us continue to orange car parks

what time did you go past to be put in Pink? as we went past around 6.20am last year and were ok

We usually arrive between 10-11am on the Wednesday. Have done this route since 2010 and last year was the first time we were stopped going towards Orange. I assumed it was because of the huge traffic jams on the A361 and so many of the Orange fields being waterlogged.

To be honest, we can cope with Pink as long as the conditions are better underfoot (they will be this year, I have faith!).

Has the pink 2 & 3 entrances always been there? we come down that road as staying at Greenacres campsite and usually go through bronze gate, with the exception of last year that put us through Orange. I have deep fear of being put in Pink tbh

We have the same concern - usually come from Wells via Lower Westholme Rd, but last year we were directed into Pink parking. Hopefully we can still exit Lower Westholme onto the A361 and enter Bronze gate into Orange. Fingers crossed!

  3. Is it certain that the Other sub and Radiohead are going to clash? I know Muse started at 10.15pm and Bastille finished at 9.40pm last year so maybe there's hope, even if Radiohead start at a little earlier at 10pm. The wife's only must see is Lorde and mine is Radiohead so we'd be gutted to miss anything of either.

You're not joking!  Much much more happening earlier this year.  Look how wet it is as well!

Quality of the camera seems to have improved massively as well

When I overlaying the 2 comparison images, I noticed the resolution and camera angle has change from last year (from 9162 x 1848 pixels to 10471 x 2048 px), hence why the improvement in picture content.

  5. Super nerdy post alert!

Interesting to compare the fence line this year to last year for behind The Park. Looks like they're installing the fence higher up the hill this year. Think this field is crew camping though

I'm happy to help somebody on Sunday. Unfortunately I wouldn't have the money to cover paying for it upfront, but if you wanted assurances on my decency I can link you to a couple of users I've helped out with tickets on here before.

Hi Richi, I would massively appreciate help getting our last 2 tickets if you're still available? I'm happy to DM you the payment details if so. Thanks!

Anyone know where you can get Crabbies Ginger Beer in cans any more? I took it a couple of years ago but last year I couldn't find it in any of my local supermarkets. I know it's not a proper beer but it does taste ok warm.

Tesco online has Crabbies cans 4 packs - although these may only be available to me locally? Have managed to get these ordered and delivered that last few years and can confirm they are pretty decent, even when warm and a much better alternative to crap lager.

  8. We had one amusing incident in the campsite Saturday afternoon... a guy in a red t-shirt, obviously off his face, came up to our group and started to try and teach us yoga by doing handstands and other crazy body contortions. Minutes later, some guy, calling himself head of events or something, approached us and asked questions about him and whether he was selling drugs or bothering us. We told him he was just having fun and that it was totally harmless and off he followed the guy who was now talking to another group.

This behaviour is nothing out of the ordinary at Glastonbury but seemed to be frowned upon here. But yeah, everyone we came across were good natured and friendly.

One of my favourite moments was seeing a bunch of 14-16 year olds (male and female) dancing and singing away merrily to The National without a care in the world.

  9. Yeah, I agree about the site being fantastic - the lake setting is gorgeous and perfectly suited the weather. Would worry about trying to get through the wooded area if it was super wet but thankfully that wasn't a concern this year. I did get bitten to buggery yesterday though annoyingly.

  10. Made it home to Kent around 2am and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed my first Latitude experience.

Having guest passes was such a relief in terms of the closeness of the car parking to the campsite and access to the main site. After an exhausting Glastonbury, this, combined with the gorgeous weather and numerous areas to chill and just enjoy been big away from everything made the festival a much needed relaxing weekend.

Managed to seeing pretty much all the acts I unfortunately missed at Glastonbury, and none of the them disappointed. Grimes was incredible, so glad I finally got to see her in a tent too as the Park Stage gig as Glastonbury appeared to be lacking something when watched back on iplayer.

Other highlights included M83, John Grant, Adam Buxton w/ Louis Therox, Mark Watson, Christine and the Queens, CC Smugglers. Biggest surprise of the weekend though were Slaves - such amazing energy and the guy (Harvey) that they brought up from the crowd to dance with them was incredible fun! Blown away by them!

I know we camped in the Guest area but I've never come across a cleaner and tidier campsite. When we packed away on Sunday night, the fields look pretty much spotless - the festival on the whole was like this. The deposit scheme on bottles and cups also is a great thing - kids were wondering around with bin bags collecting leftover rubbish. Felt there could have been more bins around the main stage though as lots of people kept leaving discarded food plates.

On the whole though, a fab experience and would definetly go again.

I'm on site, dry as a bone. I take it the clash finders have been updated with the TBC that's Sunday midday? Sunday special is on, maybe

Latitude announced the Sunday special guest earlier on twitter...

Nope, never heard of them either!

  12. Thanks for the guest camping info guys, very helpful! Really excited to be going now, especially as most of the artists I missed at Glastonbury will be there (Grimes, M83, Nathaniel Rateliff, Christine & the Queens, Chvrches).

  13. Just been offered guest passes by a friend but we can't get up there until Friday afternoon. Has anyone got experience of camping in the guest campsite and whether it will be full by then? We have a rather large tent but might purchase another smaller one for this as we'll only be camped for a few days.

We're at the Marriott. It's to the north, a bit further out of town than we first realised! That sounds like a good idea - better than getting the taxi for the entire trip back!

We stayed in city last year and tried queueing for cabs after the headliner on the first night. Gave up after 30mins of no movement and ended up just getting the train back to Cais do Sodré. From there, getting a cab from around the corner was very quick and easy. Not that expensive either so I'd recommend that for sure.
