  1. Fleetwood Mac announced for IOW..

"The band have signed an exclusive worldwide deal to headline the event, making it their only festival appearance of the year."

Will be getting paid a fair amount for that I'd imagine, watch the rest of their lineup be utter rubbish.

  2. just half way through listening to it, was always a Punk fan but knew he was a bit of an arsehole, but listening to all these points regarding his health and so on really happy he got out now, will be interesting to see how any of the current roster react to this on the dirtsheets and such

  3. Could see olly murs getting announced before Robbin Williams, would be a good booking getting either of them not as a headliner though.

    Both would definetly shift tickets.

Cant see Murs playing, got two Hydro gigs (lord knows how, mind!) RW has a few festival dates near the time though

Olly murs, the script, robbin williams...really?? I need to see a real band as first headliner as soon as possible to get my ticket. I still trust in Kasabian

Need a genie to get Robbin to play... I'd say Kasabian are a safe bet for first headliner still, they'll have the poppier headliners in the main announcement.

Flo+the Machine announced for Rock Werchter, got to be pretty likely for her too now

  4. Could happen I guess. Would probably be good fun on the night, but not the most popular of announcements here. Probably shift a lot of tickets too

Aye, thought that myself, would be panned on here, but always sells a bucket load everytime he tours. As you said pretty much would give a drunken singalong on the night. Probably more likely to do his own shows over here like, but never seen him taking top billing spots at Euro fests before

  5. Cant see Muse playing now with that new date, more likely to take a day off or stay in Europe for another fest

Going by some recent euro announcements, gonna throw this out there... Robbie Williams headlining a few fests the weeks before T, wouldnt surprise me at all tbh.

  6. Will add myself to people ruling out Muse now.

Florence and The Machine or The Libertines

Noel Gallagher with The Prodigy post-headlining

    Kasabian

as the main acts, potential undercard including some of

The Strokes, The Black Keys, Iggy Pop (not supporting Foos at Murrayfield seemingly) Bastille, Maroon 5, The Script, Frank Turner, Belle and Sebastian, Rita Ora, FKA Twigs, Idlewild, Young Fathers, The Gaslight Anthem, Jamie T, Alt-J, Feeder/Grant Nicholas, Interpol, Alabama Shakes

  7. Muse have just been announced for a festival in Vienna, so they're definitely around. At the moment I'd go with them, Florence and Kasabian as headliners.

This looks most likely to me at the moment, possibly The Black Keys 'co-headlining' with Flo

  8. Muse new album should be ready for next Summer. As good as it would be though, I can't see them pulling a big crowd at T anymore

Will still pull a crowd most places they go, T included. I'm still waiting for a stadium show up here from them saying that.

  9. Survey... good thing these arent always realistic

Headliners: Muse, Arcade Fire, Bruce Springsteen

8 Acts: Jack White, Belle & Sebastian, Elton John, The Libertines, Aerosmith, Chic feat. Nile Rodgers, Fatboy Slim, Specials

    Artists from this year:

Chvrches, Franz Ferdinand, Manics, Rudimental, Biffy

  10. * Pure Speculation *

The folk we were staying with are not convinced we have seen the end of T at Balado.

They understand that Tennents own the land for the current site. Word locally is that they are still trying to buy more land to one side of the current site ( this is being denied by both sides ). If this was succesful then they would be able to have people camping above the pipeline but not need to drill down into that area for the stage rigs etc.

They reckon that it can only work out if they get this land as there is a quarry at the other side ?

Just to point out again, this could well be bull but it could give the site a " rest " for a year and if there is a grain of truth in it then moving would maybe force the hand of the potential land seller.

IF.....it`s true then look out for rumours of problems with the new site at the castle.

Has anyone else heard anything on this ?

My original thoughts on the move were that they were downsizing to save face. Was this the first year they have split weekend camping tickets into day tickets a couple of weeks before to try and shift some ? Don`t they normally claim it`s sold out ?

  11. Must add to my previous comments, thought they did well keeping the arena, toilets etc relatively clean this year, wasnt wading through too much rubbish or going into overfilled toilets at all really, fair play to them for that. Every random I bumped into, talked too etc was friendly too, might be the overall weather assisting there.

Re-watched Biffys, Calvin and Chvrches sets, sometimes dont realise how loud or mental crowds are in when your in the middle of them!

  12. Feeling totally broken today, top top weekend, considering I started it of on my own.

Thursday - like everyone got cooked in that sun waiting to get in, the Palm stage was ace that night. One small grumble, after pitching up took a walk around the site, I think they severley underestimated how little space there was for people originally by not having red open earlier, was close to a few scenes with some folk and the unfortunately campsite assistants having to deal with it.

Friday - Got cooked more. Seen the following

Charlie XCX - nice to look at, bit rubbish on the music

The Rifles - Went down well, got a good reception

Foxes - decent for her type of act, got a few singalongs

Haim - totally biased, love them.

Bits of Imagine Dragons, The Magic Numbers - not a fan of the former but they got the crowd going from what I did see

Chvrches - Brilliant brilliant set, you could tell it meant alot to them.

    Manics - Awesome.

Biffy - Loved it but was knackered to get fully into it

    Saturday

Kiesza - Actually quite enjoyed her, got some vocals on her

    Fatherson - not bad

The Stranglers - great as usual

John Cooper Clarke - Great stuff, very dry dark humour at times

James - Didnt enjoy it as much as I would have liked, too many newer songs maybe

Rudimental - Unashambly really enjoyed their set, they really get into it

Pharrell - pretty decent, alot of crowd pleasing songs

Paolo Nutini - great set, justified his placing imo

Calvin Harris - really wasnt going to see him but bumped into some folk I knew and stuck with him, really enjoyed despite my intentions and the end of the world rain shower, seemed to go with the light show

Sunday - Stuck with the group I bumped into on Saturday, spent most of it drinking tbh, didnt feel like I missed much

Rev & The Makers - decent set as usual

    Kaiser Chiefs - as above

Paul Weller - seemed really flat from bits I saw

Franz Ferdinand - brilliant set, tent was bouncing

Arctic Monkeys - wasnt the best or worst I've seen em, decent. Seemed a bit flat when comapring to the previous nights headline showings.

Had a brilliant time, gutted to see it leave Balado tbh, alot of good memories. Will see what they pull out for the new place before making any decisions though.

  13. Well if Sean Batty is correct there is a 20% chance of rain on Friday but to be 21 degrees, 40% chance of rain on Saturday and then 60% chance of rain on Sunday.

Basically warm but with rain mostly falling on the Sunday.

Other bonus he mentioned is it's likely to be still around 13 degrees at night so it won't be that cold sleeping.
