Thing is most places are making sure these extra doses are being used, it's been widely reported tbh so whilst I can't say it isn't happening in this case I don't think its a wide spread that they are throwing anything away - they are ringing around to get them used up

Totally understand that, they have consistently said if it's not safe to operate or even if any measures need to be in place, they won't go ahead and it will be May 2022.

Hopefully you can get them sorted either way if it's safe to do so, or for next year.

I'm looking forward to the day I can go to a gig or a festival without measures, it might be awhile but we'll get there eventually.

Least festival money helps pay for car insurance as being on 80% all the time does bugger up the cash flow (and before anyone says anything yes I know others have it worse but only talking about my own struggles 😞)

Me too!! I remember saying see you in June to my friend at the stereophonics gig in March!!

Last gig 7th March The Sister of Mercy, fella said he'd never seen so many blokes was their hands apparently even queuing for soap! seems like forever a go 😞

Yeah. Not many took it seriously at this stage to be honest.

I remember going to a meeting with work in mid February and COVID wasn’t even mentioned.

I know what you mean, personally I was looking in horror as it spread across the territories in China given the mass movement of people during CNY.. then we had Italy/Spain yet folks at work didn't really discuss it much until March.

We had our annual conference in Liverpool late Feb (which had me a bit worried) and remember having a chat with one of the DC guys on the way back and telling him Covid is already here and spreading but let's hope our health care system could cope. Even though I could see the storm coming and probably following a lot more than my colleagues, I still would not have anticipated such a fall out!!

Personally I'm struggling to see the end point as it won't just some at all of us being vaccinated and out of lockdown, until the rest of the world catches up - which outside this forum in general joe public land people really don't fully appreciate or even worse, care 😞

  5. I see Knowsley (where my place of work is located, thankfully I work from home) is still top of the covid infections charts 😞

I was trying to work out how it was still so high, even though I know there is a lot of DCs and manufacturing in the area but this BBC article sort of sums it up - folks can't afford to isolate, I know this has been in the news for awhile but it's so sad we are still at this point and it's no wonder cases in working populations are only going down slowly

Wrong. Israel paid a pretty penny to be able to vaccinate everyone quickly. It’s a zero sum game and third world countries will be pushed to the back of the queue.

Jesus... whilst you're right money talks it's a good job you don't work in ethics!!

He's right the world's vulnerable should be first but the reality is the rich pay the pennies!

WHO were bringing the same point Stevie has brought up tbh as this is a global issue and poorer countries need our help to survive this too 😞

We have had a stupid amount of rain up here last few days, they've had to evacuate some areas....and now it's full on snowing.

Snow still going for it .... up to 2" in back garden now, which is extraordinary given how wet it's has been today!!

    Take your own pencil!

(Incidentally, I did vote-counting in the 2019 European election. There seemed to be a correlation between people voting for certain parties and those who used their own felt tip 🤣)

Postal voting is the way, I've been doing this for a decade!

Yeah. Not loads and loads, and they were socially distanced, but there were small comedy gigs, big outdoor gigs etc. Main one I can think of was the Hot Chip Margate gig - I watched online but you could buy tickets to attend as a socially distanced punter. The Jazz Cafe IN Camden and Ronnie Scott's in Soho were both open for socially distanced gigs.

I didn't go to any of them as I didn't feel it was wise personally. But they were happening. My point is just that if they can do events with restrictions last summer then I can't see why they wouldn't this summer.

Maybe in London but that shit wasn't happening in the NW apart from a few "trial" things

Will be interesting how it pans out as gigs and even festivals are booking for 2nd half of the year so there must be some confidence there for normality (and I'm not talking about those socially distanced numbers)

  10. this whole thing with the pardons, I've just been told that they have to be printed and given to the person they have pardoned....

So with Trump being a bit late with this list and UPS or whatever doesn't get them there in time - the pardons can actually be revoked (as it's happened before apparently) lol

    Oh wait there’s more:

My job is ethics and CSR management in supply chain, this ruling is a really bad sign of morality ... It's a slippery slope and dread to think how this snowballs into other areas 😞

I haven't got a ticket for Glastonbury anyway...but if any other festivals are on this summer like Bluedot or Greenman I think I will try and get tickets for those...big if I know....

I have tickets for both Bearded and Bluedot as I didn't get Glastonbury tickets either... but I'm not confident about attending a festival this year and the fella definitely doesn't want too.. 😞

  13. No mention of Bearded Theory festival announcement last night?? Announced Sept date and Placebo as a headliner..

I'm very conflicted as don't think it will be totally safe by then to have a normal festival (fella is like just no). So going to get a refund and see what the situation is in the summer and if feel confident I'll just buy tickets again

Too many variables at the moment and it's going to be hard to get used to going out normally again! I really miss gigs and festivals but I just can't feel confident about them as too many idiots about to contend with in these crowded environments 😞
