Any tips on hotels for Pulp on 1st July. Currently looking round and prices are horrendous. Even Travelodge want £200+ a room for one night. Long gone are the glory days of £29 rooms lol

I had one booked the day Pulp tickets went on sale...they emailed me 2 days ago to say they had cancelled my booking (clearly realised could charge more for the room). Arseholes.

Presumably given Jamie T's supports have been announced, there's schedule space for one (maybe even two) extra acts and any such additional acts for Pulp might well be announced as coming along soon enough.

How many, I'm less sure of. It does seem like it's not quite at the level of being a full-on 10 hour fest in the mould of when QOTSA did Finsbury in 2018.

Much as I'm mainly just hoping for extra tickets or failing that striking lucky on Twickets.

Cheers. Hope you get tickets sorted. Sure there will be a few floating about closer to the time

  3. So do we think we will get at least one more band for the Pulp gig? If doors are at 4pm, Wet Leg say on 5pm-6.30pm, time for another band 7pm-8.30pm then Pulp 9pm-10.30pm? (or a smaller band on first then Wet Leg)

Mate! What a treat! I was very hungover in my tent when I heard the soundcheck and couldn't work out what was going on. I don't think I've ever heard a headliner doing their own soundcheck at a festival before. Race For The Prize + fireworks + crowd singalong to What A Wonderful World = unlikely to ever be topped 👌

Yeah it was special. Had my daughter on my shoulders right down the front.

I always wondered what I would say if I ever met Wayne Coyne, how much his music has meant to me over the years, how amazing and life-affirming each and every one of the 30 or 40 times I've seen them live has been and have got me through some tough times. Instead, after bumping into him (wearing a t-shirt with his face on it mind you) all I could manage to blurt out was 'Holy f*cking sh*t, its Wayne Coyne!'. To be fair he just laughed and was really nice.

They haven't. They should do - it would be the best combination. They were stunning at Bearded last year

Yeah they were fantastic. We were luckily enough to be in the arena when they did a soundcheck of 'Do You Realize??' on the morning, then later on I bumped into Wayne Coyne walking through the arena. Havent washed my hands since.

Solid but not super exciting imo. If it had been Flaming Lips or Orbital in place of Primal Scream I’d be a lot more excited. Agree that it feels a bit stale - when you’ve done BT and BD almost every year for the last decade it’s impossible to get excited about Ferocious Dog or Dreadzone! Fine bands, both of them, but I’ve seen them more times than I’ve seen my parents by now.

anyone know anything about this Rock Orchestra thing in the tent? The description sounds dreadful but there must be something there if they’re a headliner…

Have Flaming Lips ever played BD? Can't see that they have. Surprised...think they would be a great fit.

Enough to keep us happy but as the years go on it is starting to become a Main Stage and Bimble Inn only festival for us with the odd exception.

Nothing wrong with that but perhaps next year we try Green Man for the first time otherwise I fear BD might become stale.

Don't get me wrong, the line up is good but compare it to Bearded Theory and it just lacks variety. I know what I mean, hope you do.

Yeah, definitely agree. Just more excited about the Bearded line up, think its stronger and has more variety in terms of the 'top 6' bands and has more depth overall.

Still happy with the BD line up but definitely less 'Wow...I'll have to check them out!' bands than Bearded.

In the least surprising news ever the postponed 2023 event has now been cancelled.

Shame but as you said, not a shock. First event was great but the poor line up and late change of location for the proposed next one didnt help. The thing about only being able to take 4 beers into the campsite really pissed me off. I filled in a survey they sent round and put these points on.

Be good if they can resurrect it at some point but longer it goes less likely it seems.

Only went once really didn't care for it.

Searches every time you go in on the off chance somebody manages to sneak a drink in and not pay their extortionate prices.

Couldn't quite put my finger on it but lacks atmosphere and a tad snobby.

If you fancy a change far better options. Beautiful Days and Bearded Theory among the best and friendliest.

Yeah, having done all 3 have to agree. Far friendlier crowds at BT and BD. Latitude wasnt unfriendly, just isnt as friendly. Felt like a real trek as well...the walk from the campsite to car park nearly killed me. For a festival of that size also found the beer choice to be very poor.

I was at at Strummerville at Glastonbury for a couple of hours this year chatting to random folk and having a few beers. Got taking to some lads, just who are you looking forward type conversation etc I and I mentioned Yard Act. One of the lads said he was a drummer in a band and they had supported Yard Act. I asked who his band were and he said Deadletter.

I made a note and listened to them after. Pretty decent. They played a small venue in Manchester recently but couldn't make it but agree be good to see them. Nice lads as well!

If you get a chance definitely worth going out of your way to see them...caught them twice this year and been phenomenal both times.

I was in the shower when I heard the Flaming Lips soundcheck! Bad timing on my part.

We were just inside the arena getting some breakfast when they started so pegged it over there. Had the babby on my shoulders when they did 'Do You Realize??', not gonna lie it broke me...crying like a baby!

Mega lineup. Tickets got. First timer! Wooooo! Tell me things, people x

Really small site, until last year never felt that crowded (but they are making some changes that should address that). Really eclectic line up, definitely worth checking out some of the smaller stages/tents. Great beer and food stalls, never any queues for beer as you can your own in the arena.

Can get a bit cold at night that early in the season though so take plenty of blankets/quilts.

Thursday doesnt usually have a lot on but worth getting their early if you can so you can get pitched up and soak up the atmosphere a bit

Main thing for me is it probably the friendliest festival crowd, just full of sound people having a crack.

Last year we saw Flaming Lips soundchecking 'Do You Realize??' and I bumped into Wayne Coyne later so its my favourite place on the planet!

Cracking first lineup announcement for me and has swung me back round to getting tickets.

Viagra Boys, Snapped Ankles, Interpol, Numan, Yard Act, Lovely Eggs, She Drew the Gun and Warmduscher are all great fun live, as are Pigsx7 and Bunnymen on their day.

Quite a few new things to rxplore

    Reckon another headliner to come?

They are pretty most of the bands I am most excited by...Benefits are definitely worth a watch as well.

Its gonna be a great year to catch a lot of  smaller/upcoming bands I think.

Really hoping they add DEADLETTER as well.

They'll be a few more added to Finsbury but won't be like Sam Fender. See Tickets have doors at 16.00

Shame...gonna have to travel down from Brum for this (assuming we can get tickets) so would have preferred a full days music
