  1. Would probably go so far as to say that was one of favourite festival weekends ever. Some great music, absolutely lovely crowd (possibly a few more completely out of it than I have seen on previous occasions), decent loos. Obviously weather helped.

    Cracking weekend so far.

Particularly enjoyed Heartwirms, Snapped Ankles and Pale Blue Eyes.

Don't get the appeal of Elvana but each to their own.

Think Interpol must be the smallest crowd i have seen for a headliner here.

Yeah the Interpol crowd was embarassingly small. Shame, they were decent. Think Echo & The Bunnymen were probably a much bigger draw than they were expecting...couldnt get anywhere near the tent

Just been talking to Mik Artistik who was lamenting all the smaller stages lost at Glasto this year due to rationalisation / costs whatever...

Also this year - spotless bogs - never seen this!

The toilets are exceptional! Not seen a single dirty one. Overall think this is probably one of the best weekends.  The addition of the Meadow is a massive bonus and everywhere else seems to be a bit less rammed as a result.

Music highlights so far definitely Benefits, Deja Vega, Pet Needs, Oh My God! Its The Church. Bit disappointed in Viagra Boys. The people are as lovely as ever, had some great chats with some lovely randoms. The weather is obviously helping.

  4. Really enjoyed the first day. Slight delay getting in but nothing too major. The seperate queue for families I didnt really understand (although still took advantage as have the babby with us). Could do with more ale choice but otherwise great day. Massively enjoyed 'Oh My God Its The Church!'

From reading loads of 'newbie' posts on FB so many seem to be taking the literal kitchen sink so sadly we may see more of the stupid huge gazebos.
In one conversation someone said 'if the gazebo was not there it would just be empty space not used!!!!! Yeh, cos nobody wanted to stick a tent up did they!

Fingers toes and more crossed that the demographic does not alter that much - that is my main concern, not the new owners.

See you in the fields. Have  a blast.

The gazebo thing does my absolute fruit in.

You too...have an absolute cracker! (if you see somebody in a blue t-shirt on Thursday with a picture of Corbyn on it say hello!)

Heard about some issues re the camp site and room for tents last year. I cant go until Friday morning so getting a bit concerned!

Only need space for 1 three person tent is that likely to be an issue?

You'll be fine. Ultimately they will have to find a space for you. To be honest I was a bit concerned with the nessage they put out this year so we are taking our semi-knackered 4 berth rather than our shiny new 6 berth. Last year it wasnt the tents that was the issue, it was the massive bloody gazebos...some people were totally taking the piss.

We do Camper Calling and it is a strange one - we avoid the chair forests like the plague and find the front dancing spaces fun and full of decent folks - and the Teapot of course is great. We do it cos it is easy more than anything and the body is old and  a bit broken.

Yeah, camping next to the car is a massive draw at my age...the walk back to the car on Monday mornings with all the shit is an absolute killer nowadays.

We tried Lakefest last year after having gone ages ago when we had free tickets.......

We will never do it again. It was just wrong on so many levels from the army recruiting stall, to the electric hook up spots for tents to the groups of racists being very racist to the indifference of the organisers when you point out the way the car park is filled means people wheeling camping gear are walking directly into cars as they arrive (several near misses!).

If Bearded went that way it would not longer be Bearded and just some hair free gathering in a field.

Keep doing what you are all doing - forever 🙂

Yeah we did Lakefest a few years ago and something about it just didn't sit right. We couldn't quite put our fingers on why. Just felt a bit lifeless, and whilst we didnt encounter anybody who was openly offensive, nobody was particularly friendly either. To a lesser degree found Camper Calling was the same last year.

I'd be amazed if the van is a problem. They obviously don't want people sleeping in the car park but i'm sure i've always seen work van/transit vans etc park with no fuss so if its obvious you aren't camping in it i'd expect you'll be fine.

If you are arriving on Friday a steward should be able to let you know best camping spaces. Walton Woods tends to look busy as its the first one people get to and its nearest the arena but none of the camping is far from the arena entrance really.

Have a fantastic time. I have done plenty of Glastonbury as well as EOTR and Green Man and feel very at home at Bearded Theory so hope the same for you.

Yeah, pretty sure have seen vans in the car park before but they definitely dont want people sleeping in vans in the car park after that fire at another festival a few years ago.

    EDITED

OK I have the cure, it is not something I have ever had to do before so might just be a new version of Chrome:

In Print Preview select 'More Settings'
Then tick the box 'Background Graphics'

Your highlighted options will then show up.

and as Paul says - do not print yet, lots of changes likely in the next 48 hours.......... but after Weds evening it will not be updated any more as I am off line partying.

Thanks for the heads up on this.

You are spot on with Benefits, they have just confirmed they are on 3.45pm

They are good live, well I think they are cos they used to be my local band.

Seen them twice live recently and they were fun - sweary sweary fun

Apparently James the singer is doing one of the lessons at the school which should be interesting.

  12. Started packing and loading the car today..shits getting real!

Hope the atmosphere is same as in previous years...genuinely can't wait.

Once we are pitched will take our trolley down to the entrance to give people a hand for a couple of hours..if you see a bloke in an anti Tory t shirt with a 7 year old and a massive orange trolley and you need a hand feel free to grab us

Just don't like them...... which given the clash nightmare is lucky I suppose LOL

We are at Beautiful Days so at least can see them there is all else fails.

Yeah...looking at BD line up can't see any clashes at all so will likely just be plonking me arse by the main stage for 3 days. Much more relaxing!

and as a result of watching them live at Blookstock in 2021 Sunday now looks like this, and this is without the smaller stages! Nightmare.

Honestly...would highly recommend seeing them then catching the end of Primals. Have seen Primals so many times over the years, one of the best and worst bands I've seen live. Last time they were a bit shit tbh.

One of the few bands you haven't highlighted, Warmduscher, are one of my must sees!

It looks better than this now......... but just do not like Skindred. I should like them given what music I like but there is something about them I just don't.

My brother in law was banging on about them when I went to BD a couple of years ago...didnt clash with anybody and must admit massively enjoyed them, highlight of the weekend! Hope I can catch them at BT but fuck knows how many bands I want to see they will clash with!

Just an up to date map would do I suppose. No idea where anything is. Although it looks small enough (don't mean that in a bad way, far from it), for us not to get lost, as we are planning at least one day without our bloody mobile phones.

It is a small site...would say you are probably never more than 15-20 minutes from anywhere you want to be. If you are worried about getting lost from your crowd suggest having a recce point somewhere at the back of the main stage (by the bar is a good shout!)

It really is a brilliant festival with a lovely crowd. Hopefully the new stuff wont change that too much.

    Have a great one...next week!

Yeah i was wondering that, but sure I cant understand why with the line up, its immense.

Can't understand it. Beautiful Days has sold out, is 2.5k bigger, and lets be honest, has a worse line up (I love BD and am going to both again this year).

Time of year maybe? Concerns over new owners? Bit odd. That said, pissed off am not gonna get a free pint after buying tickets as soon as they went on sale!

There was no camping space for us late arrivals so they ended up having to make part of the car park outside of the main entrance into a campsite with just a few portaloos. Problem was people taking up camping space with gazebos. We got camped on a fire escape with their permission in field at top of site

Definitely agree gazebos are the main issue and not the tents. There were loads last year and they are just dead space. Some of them were taking up a ridiculous amount of room.

Really hope the campsite isnt going to be ridiculously cramped.

I have been following this for a while and missed the chance for campervan tickets and therefore still havent purchased tickets for our family, I am on the waiting list for campervan tickets but does anyone have experience and know if they release any more for resale or not?

Pretty sure I bought one in the hope we would buy a campervan but then the mortgage went up by £400 a month so that idea went out the window (did the same last year)

I'll have a check and let you know. If so can send it over by email. Dont want any payment for it, just make a donation to foodbank or sommat.
