Anyone know if/what the new food vendors are? They all look vaguely familiar to me. Would be nice to try some new ones!

There's a Hanoi Kitchen near me in Walthamstow and their banh mi is S tier, absolutely fantastic

  2. I've had 3 different networks there and they've all been trash. Hell, in 2021 there was like 20 minutes you couldn't get a beer cos it was too bad even for the card machiens

They used to at least have some wifi by the campfire. I don't need it for much - mostly telling my wife I'm still alive, but my mates tend to clump together cos we're like "we'll never see each other again" if we leave

Secret boygenius set for the future islands support slot?

I'm a huge huge fan, so I'd like, die? if it was?

But being realistic, it would be the coup of the century if they pulled that off. Feels just a tad too far fetched

  4. Wet Leg is an interesting shout as the mystery band because (and I say this as a positive), they're a band who are very aware of their own mystique, and this very much fits their idiom. The thing putting me off is that a long slot for how long their shows usually are

  5. Cheers people. I've managed to swag a large pitch ticket so we should be golden. Also we can only ever come from Friday so it also means not having to find a slot to pitch in which is less stress too

What's the relative size of Garden vs Woods? Clashfinder suggests angel olsen will pull about 63% of the crowd, does anything else get added onto the lineup around that time (eg I could be persuaded to go to comedy / eat food)

In terms of what's on directly before on those stages cass mccombs on garden looking more popular than greentea peng, but wunderhose & bodega looking v popular too, so will be movement in from quite a few stages...

It is of course worth noting that Clashfinder is a self selecting and unrepresentative panel.

The large amount of people who just come to have a nice time and sit in front of a stage aren't looking at it, and since chairs are banned from the Garden stage after like 5pm or something, they'll be at the Woods, whatever is on

That said they do close the Garden stage if it gets too full so worth getting there early for Angel imo

Of the 10 different festivals I’ve been to, I think EOTR is my favourite. You’ll love it.

My first EOTR was 2018, and it was a total game-changer. I went from being inconsolable at not getting Glastonbury tickets for 2017 or 2019 to actually preferring EOTR to Glastonbury.

My crew switched from Glasto to EOTR, mostly cos it's just so much easier. Yeah you don't get Elton's last ever show, but it also doesn't take 90 minutes to get out of the field afterwards either.

Been to 3 EOTR's and I think I've cumulatively queued about 10 minutes for drinks, and that's pretty much just for lageritas

This is what the EOTR website says about pitch sizes:

A ‘Regular Campervan Pitch’ allows for a pitch that is 6m x 8m with space for 1 x live in vehicle OR 1 x caravan, PLUS 1 x small awning (max 2 person).

A ‘Large Campervan Pitch’ allows for a pitch that is 9m x 8m with space for 1 x live in vehicle OR 1 x caravan, PLUS 1 x awning / tent (max 4 person).

We've been taking a transit sized van onto a large campervan pitch for the last few years. One guy sleeps in that. Next to it, we put up a mid-sized family tent (a 4 person tent that really only takes 3 comfortably). Two of us sleep in that. We also put up a 10ft x 10ft event shelter. Plenty of room. The field itself is much quieter than general camping during the wee small hours when the last bands are playing. There are probably a few more of us at the "mature" end of the scale.

    That's incredibly helpful mate, cheers.

Tbh whilst I can party with the best of them, I prefer to do it where there's actual entertainment. Once I'm back, I'm going to sleep, so I don't mind sedate tbh!

  9. Well, it appears we're now doing campervan for the first time. What's the field like? How big are the pitches? there's four of us and it will be tight in the van so we're gonna need to throw up a tent outside for the latest back to sleep in

Change the map would be a good start?  Exeter Chiefs decided that 'chief' was an old Devonian term of reference / title and rebranded to some Norman-looking headgear - but then they keep the bloody wigwam bar.  It's the little details.

it's still last year's map atm

No, LV was basically the exact same from 2002 to 2007 inclusive.

It benefits massively from nostalgia here, if LV did somehow come back people would be like "really? that's it?". For all the complaints that the SE corner is stale, there's still more changes every year than LV had across 5 years.

My first fest was 07 and I was very much whelmed by LV. Shangri La the following year was like that concept taken to another dimension. Blew our minds!

The setup sounds amazing - I'm looking forward to my stepcount not being the main achievement of the weekend.  With such small distances is there any sound-bleed between stages / nearby bars pumping out their own tunes during the quiet bits?

No, Woods and Garden are a decent distance away, and Garden is enclosed. Folly and Big Top are tents. The bars don't really play music, and other music stuff is in the woods so well covered

As soon as they start taking that interest for granted they run the risk of serious trouble. They have a business model that works, to just start arrogantly messing with that because ‘we can do whatever we want and it will still sell out’ would be extremely ill-advised.

Not totally comparable, as it was a much smaller pool of people, but ATP thought they could get the same 5k people to go to four festivals a year. Worked out well for them and their creditors. Oh.

If you look at the north part of the site most of the marked camping, is out of bounds of normal punters.

If you arrive at gate A, B or C then the camping options are already quite slim.

I haven;t been since 2011 and thinking of making a return and quite sad seeing that all the places we used to camp are now completely off limits
