Agree with both of those points. I used to get fed up with the trudge back (uphill) from the SE corner at 4AM. But...nowhere else has a 24/7 establishment of the quality of Loulou's within 5 mins of your tent either :-)

Just thought I'd contribute to your dilemma....

Did you ever camp on Hitchin' HIll and remember a bacon van that played Mika (the same song) on repeat for 2 days? I was ready to kill.

Although I now use Worthy View, always used to camp in Spring Ground then Hitchin Hill. It's the best IMHO. You sure you want to move....?!! xx

No - my hand is being forced :) That said I am sick of the loooong walk back if I feel "naughty". The view in the morning from Hitchin' Hill is pretty much unbeatable though.

    Decisions, decisions!

  3. I've always camped up at Hitchin' Hill and I think it's time for a change. What I like is being away from the river (been to too many wet ones), having a bit of a hill below me and being fairly close to the toilet blocks with long drops or the new compost toilets (camped once with only portaloos and it wasn't nice!).

Would Paines or South Park 1/ 2 provide any of that? Would like to avoid the late night noise of Arcadia but also not be on the other side of the festival this year!

Advice appreciated - the reason I ask is we're arriving in the middle of the night this time :)

  4. NZCA Lines have just tweeted their playing the Crow's Nest on Friday night.

If you're a Glastonbury newbie - this is well worth the trek up the hill. It's a lovely intimate venue - you'll find out the time by looking at the chalk board outside!

  5. We "got in" to watch Rastamouse - they on the entrance to the areadissuading groups of lads carrying cans of cider (which we were). Probably sensible.. we just happened to walk around to a different entrance and get in (not trying to break-in - honest!).

Only fair the "Kidz" get first shout. So I think the answer is, you'll get to see Bagpuss / Basil et al if you want to but let's let the kids have their headliners too :)

what did you have to do to win them?

I think it was a simple question! To be honest I'd forgotten all about it! I missed a call from Weston-Super-Mare.. glad I didn't miss it the second time!!!

If this is my friends with an elaborate windup I won't even be mad.. at least I had a couple of hours of thinking I was going :)

One of my favourite threads of the year.  It's one of the first signs of Glasto, the self confirmations beginning!

Yes - was great fun last year, when I had tickets in the bag. Now it's just making me nervous!

  8. Saw a couple of good acts in Bourbon Street - Ledfoot being the stand out.

Is it because it was a "private" bar and they just booked their own acts - I think I heard somewhere it didn't take in the cash it needed?

  9. Anyone else feel that the website was busier than ever. Hardly even got the holding page.

Not bitter - just interested to see if even MORE people are trying this year. Wow!

  10. Thought she was really poor on the Pyramid. Out of time with the band and vocally weak. Not sure she was ready for this - shame, love the record.

Probably about the only "new" act all weekend I was disappointed with. I know it's a punk edge but Slaves showed how that was done!
