I've seen a few comments, I'm sure, indicating they expect them to be there.

Probably the wrong thread for this, but anyway, are Chemical brothers pretty much a lock on for other stage headliner?

we set off from Birmingham m6 travel lodge last year (from Scotland, and pitched up there for the night to break the journey up) at around 7am, and according to my phone we were at the camp site by 12.50. There was a pit stop at Asda included there as well. There was a bit of a queue to get in, gate D we used but it moved pretty quickly. probably took about 1 hour in total. if any of that is any use what so ever.

Is it a given that Chems are playing @Crazyfool01

Having never actually seen Coldplay before, I am quite up for it, in fact very up for it. A good old sing song.

Thanks for the response @THEBOILERMAN, Apologies for the delay I have only just seen this. it's a long old wait, I suppose if you put something else in motion and happen to resale tickets, you've got both to look forward to (cost permitting of course) That answers my question, hiring a 9 seater was slightly more expensive, excluding fuel, than the total cost for 3 cars, fuel and car park passes but we thought it would be worth it to travel together, share the drive etc. If we had to hire anyting bigger the price would have turned it into an expensive laugh. The drive down is fine, it's coming home that's the tough part, and I much prefer the freedom of having the car gives you as opposed to pubic transport and having to carry everything in one go. PS, not sure any of us will have the D1 on the license anyway haha.

when did Queen become a rumour on the efest rumours list?

tbf, I feel as though we were saying this right up until the last week in April last year, so still plenty of time

Done the journey the last two years, first year via the official National express coach from Buchannan bus station, it was fine, no issues on what we could take on, albeit the bus only about half full, it was a god send being able to sleep the whole way home. (this cost about £190) I would probably be against doing it again, as you are limited in what you can take, i.e plenty of beers. The amount of Money I spent in 2022 was considerably higher (about £400 across the weekend on food and drink) Last year we drove down Tuesday after work, stayed in an M6 travel lodge around Birmingham and set off for Glastonbury about 6.30am. Broke the Journey up nicely. travel lodge was about £35 a head. This was by far my favourite option, saved a fortune on buying beers in the festival and you have the option to do 2/3 trips back to the car if need be. The drive home which we done in one go, leaving at 5.30am was a killer, although we were home for 2pm 8 of us going this year and considering hiring a minibus, although struggling to gauge if there would be room for our luggage as well, if anyone has any thoughts on that.

My thoughts entirely, probably refers to those who are interested in seeing Coldplay as opposed to a German saxophone quartet on the park stage cause it's alternative.

The madonna stuff seems to gaining traction on twitter through various outlets, likely just the same story that the mail are running with. No smoke without fire etc

thank you very much for the replies, I thought this would be the case. Just needed some actual confirmation for my own sanity !! Enjoy everyone.

Looking to camp in South Park, gate D looks the best to go through, is it possible to park in pink or orange car park (coming from scotland) or will we just be directed somewhere automatically.
-
speaking which, Is it too late to change your picture for the tickets?
-
Travelling down from Scotland by Car for the first time, which gate will be steered towards, and is it possible to make your way to Gate A which I believe is for the buses? looking to Camp in Kidney mead again no doubt, is there a better gate to enter through? hopefully get to the festival site for 8/9am.

collapsible bucket with shower gel and a flannel was my go to, definitely feel clean afterwards, the cold water is a god send as well.
-

-

Given Sclub 7 are rumoured to be touring I wouldn't be too surprised to see them do the Avalon slot you mention. I thought Mcfly were brilliant, not sure if that was anything to do with my group all being together for the time all weekend and just merry in the sun but it was excellent.
-
Any chance of mcfly making a return?

I must admit, Musically he wouldn't be my go to, albeit he is excellent, HOWEVER, I seen him at TRNSMT and he was brilliant, very very funny set (between songs) think his set at glastonbury with the dark fruits and bucket hat was quite good too, albeit i'd be lying if I said i'd seen it all.

Camped last year in Kidney Mead, first time at the festival and don't know any different. It was pretty decent, we were a group of 6 and it was pretty crowded but you could get a few camp chairs out which was fine. Location wise it was pretty decent, close enough to the pyramid, williams green and the cider bus, plenty of food options close by, I suspect that is the same wherever you Camp though, quite a jaunt from the SE Corner right enough. Any recomendations for larger groups, 15-20? suspect it could be quite difficult, arriving Wednesday morning 10am-ish.
