You're memory is much better than mine, I have no idea who I saw that day other than NIN. In fact I can't really remember who else I saw the whole festival other than them and Bowie, must've been a good one!
Notably all Friday and THEN.... I remember Bowie haha.

Hi all. Can activity recommend a gift Campsite for the Monday night pre festival? Ideally with a bar/offering food.
How close do you want to be? I've put average distance on a normal traffic day.
I've never stopped in the van directly before the festival but here's some of my faves nearby. Food wise, you might struggle on a Monday night out of school holidays for any additional entertainment.
Petruth Paddocks (about 30 mins) Petruth Paddocks Caravanning | Camping | Glamping | Cheddar Somerset | Tel +44 (0) 1934 257055Old Oaks (15 mins) Old Oaks | Award Winning Touring, Camping & Glamping In Somerset (theoldoaks.co.uk)
Bucklegrove (30 mins) Welcome - Bucklegrove Holiday Park - Part of the Wookey Hole LOVELY pool!
You could also go for a car park/some street parking if you're feeling adventurous.
And my last suggestion would be to use Britstops and find a nice pub round there that will feed you a good meal and let you stop in the car park. Huge fan, and if you don't use already can highly recommend: Brit Stops: Authentic Motorhome Adventures Across the UK and Ireland

2007. The last bit of sun before the weekend descended into a mud bath before The Levellers.

It was never a “New Bands” tent. It was a replacement for the “Bands Tent”.
Sorry to be pedantic but that’s me. The New Band tent is probably BBC IntroducingI know I spent most of my time worse for wear in the late 90s but I am sure the New Bands Tent wasn't a mirage 😛
and before anyone says otherwise, besides the top 2/3 bands it was definitely a space for new bands. I remember 2000 was wall to wall indie bands with their first singles out. Very similar to WG I imagine.

Same time as Reprazent on the Jazz stage, I remember seeing a bit of both. Bloody love NIN, sometimes I make some daft choices at festivals.
A Perfect Circle played too that day.
It was a brilliant day - too much on at the same time that I wanted to see! Probably my favourite ever line up and can't at all be coincidental that i was 18. First year of Glade I think and I remember seeing Autechre and System 7 there, and bizarrely, Black Box Recorder were on ahead of Elliott Smith on New Bands which meant I could go and see a bit of NIN and Roni Size after him too.

Tbf I think showhawk duo have that as their full time job!
Even cushier, convince them they need a triangle player - blend in as a trio.

It’s high time for ‘Pimms in the Pit’.
Charge for a pre-laid blanket, a glass of bubbly, and an onion confit tartlet. It’ll keep the riff-raff from getting in the way.
I heard Chris De Burgh is guesting with Daft Punk on the spider so I jolly hope this upgrade is available.

The cushiest volunteering free entry has to be a set on a small stage on the Thursday of the festival @Nuthugger. Have you considered committing yourself for the next year to learning to either be a superstar DJ OR a novelty act playing 90s dance tunes on the acoustic guitar so you can get a 30 minute slot and a free ticket?

One of only two times in 20 years of going that I thought this is a bit dangerous. The other being Example last year.
Same - TLC was horrible. Only other time i remember it was the crush leaving Bjork years ago from the Other stage.

beginning my cooler based plans given its going to be a HOT ONE

Another strategy is to book a later National Express off site, or indeed the train.

Be there from the Sunday this year. Hope to make the efests meet on Monday!

Looks like a decent line up to me! Can't forget that many of the smaller festivals with less pull than Glastonbury lock acts down for exclusives now, so that will contribute to why some people aren't on the bill. I'm sure Pulp are billed as a UK exclusive for somewhere else.
Shania is a legend for a legend's slot. Not sure 90s throwback is an apt description of a country legend! I think its often just the case that "the best" Glastonbury was when we were 18. Roll on June!!!

Not falling for those sold out tweets - gonna keep refreshing til June....

Definitely prefer CV East but we’d take B&W again without moaning if we didn’t have a choice.
That's really good to know!
I hope you have a photo of MegaAwning for us!

Red Gate is also Gate A on maps.
Goose Hall, if you are using a festival map to guide you, is right by Williams Green by the meeting point. It's a big stone building with a red roof.
Have a great time!

The sitters make me physically irate, to the stage where I stopped avoiding them when trying to pass - if my feet catch you on the way through, stand up.
You don't know why people are sitting. Some people are older and can't hack standing for hours on end. If someone is sitting towards the back of the crowd they really aren't harming you or anyone. I was sat very much at the back of an empty crowd and someone kicked my foot, I think on purpose tbh - maybe it was you?
I was sat down cause I have a ton of tumours in my stomach, particularly on my right side. They kicked my right foot and I'm still in pain from that today.
If you're so irate about it that you're "catching people on the way through" you might need a sniff of those baggies making everyone hug each other that you hated too! 😂

I thought it was always last full weekend of June, as simple as that
Nothing to do with solstice, it's been Sunday 30th June a few times for last day
It's the first full weekend after the solstice - 21st June is on the Friday and so is not after it. So effectively the same thing.

Pulled in Pylle Lane about 1pm Tuesday. Camped in E17 two thirds of the way to the back. Probably as far as we could be! But no big bother on the walk.
Left site at 4pm. Took two hours to get onto Pylle Lane but it was fast flowing from then on. Was definitely poor traffic management on site. Got to Birmingham for 10pm after an obligatory Gloucester Services tea.
