Indeed, I am used to the communal showers / naked mixed thermal centres in the Netherlands and I'd be totally ok with a row of showers if it means we can be in and out in 10 minutes because the Brits are too shy 😈

Don't get me started on having to wear a bathing costume in a British sauna!!!

Email confirming dispatched arrived in my inbox. Now time to relax and do some final packing. See you on the fields 🙂

Now you know your ticket is coming, I can ask my burning question!!

Have you been living in your van and done Glastonbury before? I love being at festivals in my van but I don't live in it. What's it like doing Glastonbury in your actual home? I'm so jealous!

    Hello,

    hope all is well.

I'm driving down from Scotland to Bristol with a party of 4 (3 have coach tickets and 1 normal) and looking for the best option with regards to parking my car either in Bristol or taking it into Glastonbury

I have thought about my dad seeing if he could pick my ticket up whilst on the coach and I could drive into site but this could be deemed as unnecessary risk

    or

Park my car in Bristol somewhere (anyone have any suggestions on where to park that's not going to cost me an arm and a leg?) and get on the coach as planned.

    any advice welcome

    Thanks

    Marc

What time is your return coach on the Monday? Your Bristol parking would also likely get you off site much quicker. Have joined some wild queues in the car especially early on, but always got to Bristol within an hour. We started doing this when getting the train down because it was a much smoother ride to join the Birmingham train at Bristol rather than join the mega queues to Castle Cary.

Not sure where the coach leaves from, but I've always found Parkopedia really useful for finding parking options: Find Parking, Car Parks, Street Parking, Private Garages - Book Parking (parkopedia.com). Just had a quick look at you can park on the harbourside for £50 for the week.

If the traffic looks good then Sedgemoor for me. Otherwise Michael Wood. Gloucester is lovely but too close to home to stop on the way down.

Gloucester is definitely closer to me if you're going from Telford. Don't let logic, being sensible or time keeping stop you! I figure, one hour in is exactly the right time to feel I've started making a dent, so time for a (fancy) coffee and an extra overpriced sausage roll!

Yeah fair enough, totally understand just made an account😂 anyway cheers

The main thing to make sure is you take photo ID that matches your name. If you have a driving licence ideal but if not I wouldn't risk your passport if you can avoid it!

Can someone let me know what stage this cat is on so I can add it to my clashfinder?

Good grief, what did you do? Nightmare start to the festival. ☹️

I got all my money nicked on the Weds night in '97 - I don't think I knew about the lockups then! - and honestly don't know how I coped. I guess mates must have helped me out... hope I paid them back. 😂

I think my mates must have helped me out as well? I just remember the extreme panic and also struggling to get a signal with the bank. No one was particularly rich so struggled through somehow clearly.

I have found wallets at a few festivals now - I can't imagine not making it your sole mission to return that for swift karma, let alone nicking someone's back in the day when you must have known that was IT for them.

I wouldn't nick someone's wallet full stop, mind!

It’s a big performer and it was the performer them selfs that offered it

I’m also not a trying to scam people, I have no tickets to offer for others, just want to know what to do next as soon as possible.

Great - its just really quite rare to get offered a ticket you don't have to pay for! No shade on you, you've only got 5 posts so you can only be too careful. But if anyone scamming IS reading this, this one won't be your most successful method 😂

Wells as we stay there Tuesday night

if we are running early , stop off at Chedder and get some cheese

I LOVE a Cheddar stop on the way in. When we went to Worthy Pastures, we went and spent an extortionate amount on delicious cheese and cider on the way. Would definitely recommend an ice cream from the italian ice cream place at the bottom of the The Cliffs. Can't remember what its called?

Southampton services are exactly halfway in terms of driving times - two hours down the a/m27, then a stop, then up the a36 thru Salisbury and down the a303 etc. I have my last porcelain poop there, and then on the way back i have my first porcelain poop 👍

I had a mid-festival porcelain poop one year, when I got into Heaven. It was really muddy underfoot. They took our wellies, gave us slippers and proper loos. Still think I imagined it!

More or less the same plan here, although I'll probably take a bit more than £50. I currently have £65 in my wallet which I won't bank, so will top that up to £100.

Like most people, I usually get paid over the time I'm at Glastonbury. One year, I was due to be paid on the Thursday morning. Must have been 2008 some time like that. I got in the queue, forever, at Natwest. Card wouldn't work. Finally got through to the bank (Co-Op). They had cancelled my card due to fraud prevention and there was absolutely nothing they would do to rectify it. To the point that my salary had bounced back to my employer.

Still have night terrors about it! What a week that was.

Nothing like that the performer offered and just asked for the names of the people going. I was thinking it would be a pick the physical tickets up at the box office on your arrival.

    also many thanks

It does sound a bit suss, mate. Real talk - if someone is offering you this, and its not Paul McCartney then you might be being scammed. If you're scouting for info so you can scam other people - that's not how it works.

  13. I'm interested in what you all do on the way down, across or up. I know some people are rushing to get there ASAP and looking for the speediest route, but for those heading to car parks for a Tuesday night - do you have any rituals? Any places you stop over and visit on the way?

Usually, we make a point of climbing the Tor to take a look at the site beforehand. Although my current bout of COVID I think I'll be sensible and give this a miss to conserve my energy for the big event.
