  1. We knew this was coming, but still feel gutted now it has been officially confirmed. Saw her in 2018 and never in a million years did I think it would be 6 years until the next time!
  2. Trust me - don't bother with VPN's and all that ... lucky pants are where its at 😉
  3. Just listening to Anti-Hero for maybe the 50th time. One of the best tracks she has ever done - absolutely love it!
  4. Not gonna disagree with that comment at all. I absolutely love Folklore as well, and yes it is also a masterpiece, but if you had to get off the fence and crown one, I know what my choice would be. Red is most definitely in the conversation as well. Peak Taylor = 1989 / Folklore / Red. The rest are brilliant as well, but those 3 are iconic and a level up. Too early to judge where Midnight's will land, but at the moment for me it isn't at the same level as those 3.
  5. On numbers maybe, but 1989 will always remain her masterpiece. This review pretty much nails it - “But true Taylor fans know that, while Folklore and Evermore contained wonderful examples of Swift’s craft as a songwriter and lyricist, the masterpiece in her oeuvre remains 1989, released in 2014, when she was just 24 years old. That album, her generation’s Thriller, or Like a Prayer, is now established as a pop classic. (And no, not because of Ryan Adams’ creepy cover version). Hitching Eighties pop to Nineties electronica, then blazing down the Springsteen highway in a tank top and blue jeans, 1989 was American pop like they’ve hardly made it since that same year: histrionic, widescreen, catchy as a coronavirus.” https://www.esquire.com/uk/culture/a41711408/taylor-swift-midnights-review/
  6. I would be quite happy for the usual formula for her Tour, and then Greatest Hits at Glasto.
  7. Very well put - completely agree. I adore Folklore / Evermore, but for me nothing can beat 1989 / Rep so it has probably taken me a little bit longer than you to accept the more chilled vibe and lack of party bangers, but now I have it is a really strong album. Started at a 6.5, but yeah it does hook into your brain with each listen and is now a very good 8/10 for me
  8. Maroon into Anti-Hero is a hell of a 1-2. Top Tier stuff The rest is very good, but it doesn't really reach those heights again.
  9. Definitely. Dear Reader also gives me strong 1975 vibes Listen to "Me" from away back in 2013 (a favourite of mine). Dear Reader has the same vibe, but with a combo of Jack Antonoff production, Taylors Vocals, and it even has some "Notes" elements to it. In other words - perfection.
  10. Yeah - I got that as well
  11. Agree with all of this. I was so hoping and praying for another 1989 after the last 2 more chilled albums - lets be honest a bangerfest like that is just what the world needs right now. That said, now I have accepted it for what it is, I am really appreciating it more and more with each listen. Some brilliant stuff on there and while it doesn't grab you like 1989 it is still a very good album.
  12. Nah - its straight off Rep. Its takes so many influences from King of my Heart. Check out around 0:30 on Maroon and compare with 2:30ish on King of my Heart - uncanny. Similar beats and vocals. Both brilliant though
  13. Last of the 3am tracks - Dear Reader - absolutely brilliant. Really dreamy - put on good headphones and just appreciate the production. What a vibe
  14. Each to their own and all that .... but you can't drop Maroon!
  15. Would've Could've Should've is my favourite from the 3am tracks, coming in just behind Anti-Hero and Maroon overall for me
  16. Absolutely - I listened on good headphones last night and the production is superb. Big respect to Jack Antonoff - BFIAFL last week and now this - the production is incredible on both albums.
  17. Just seen she has dropped another 7 bonus tracks! Hope this follows the pattern from 1989 - the bonus tracks on it were incredible - some of my favs
  18. Just finished my 3rd full listen Starts well - but dare I say it - a bit dull? it’s good, but not her best by any stretch Where are the bangers, the big hooks? Fantastic production - same as the new 1975 one - Antonoff strikes again on that aspect. Favourites - Anti-Hero, Maroon, Bejeweled At the moment I’m giving it 6.5 / 10 It’s basically Rep / 1989 lite - but not as good as either. interesting to see how it fares after more listens
  19. Agreed - they are 3 of the weaker tracks that I rarely listen to - lots of better stuff on that album. Although they did sound fantastic live, particularly Ready for it which went off big time!
  20. Reputation Taylor > Lover Taylor
  21. I don't think I would have your self restraint
  22. I'm struggling with your comment you haven't heard 1989 or Reputation! You actually have never listened to them? What a treat you have in store if that is the case - my 2 favourites and both stacked full of bangers
  23. She is really leaning into the swearing now
  24. I have also buckled - currently 3 tracks in and absolutely loving it so far. Heard it described as 1989 / Rep / Lover and I am definitely getting those vibes so far 1st track Lavender would fit on Lover 2nd Track Maroon is straight off Reputation - the beats, the vocal style - listen to King of My Heart (which I adore) and then listen to this and tell me they aren't related. Love it Then onto track 3 - Anti-Hero. Absolutely stunning - so blown away I had to play it twice before moving on. Major 1989 vibes with a bit of Rep thrown in. Production is incredible and such a vibe. Hope it keeps on like this To be fair I am a huge 1989 / Reputation fan so this is just what I wanted

    The 1975

One of my favs from the album, and probably the most upbeat and euphoric. Then you check out the lyrics and realise what it is about!
