Quite tempted by this. A lot of acts I wouldn't otherwise see, which makes it all the more appealing as far as I'm concerned! Does anyone know ow much the different accommodation options are usually? Not sure I'd want to lug the tent + gear on the train 3 weekends running!

Think it depends on whether the Uni is doing it or not this year. It’s a bit of a gamble to wait the way some festivals are selling.

If you are going on your own single rooms are a bit easier to find. Where the sites say contact hotel directly if you do they often have space.

I booked a single room for £50 a night today quite close to the festival site. Think it’s a fairly basic hotel but realistically all I’m going to do is kip there.

Heard the Sept move is still likely after the roadmap release.
Guessing no PJ, probably Duran Duran / Little Mix or Dua Lipa.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they pull out a Coldplay / Radiohead or Rolling Stones show. Big British act to celebrate with.

Don’t see why PJ couldn’t play September. Pixies play EOTR first weekend in September and Idles don’t seem to have anything lined up so that could be done. They were the only names announced IIRC

  3. To be fair I was there for that set and I enjoyed it.

Think there were a couple of factors at play. I recall they were a late replacement for someone  (U2 maybe?) and also Damon seemed disappointed they didn’t get the same stratospheric reaction that Blur had got I think the previous year.

Fairly sure Snoop Dogg turned up and of course Shaun Ryder. I’d go and see them if they played APE

Current guidance in France though following today's briefing is that festivals cant happen until mid july.

I think that mid-July is an “at least” but nonetheless it does give hope that we could still get to see some festivals this season in August sometime and/or September.

If Primavera is trying to move to August maybe that will give them confidence to pull a similiar move considering the number of shared acts?

I imagine this is why the delay. There looks to be little doubt it won’t happen in May it’s just a question of whether it’s a postponement or a cancellation.

Anyone know if in the past the festival has offered VIP upgrade, I bought a primary entry ticket but really fancy the VIP view ticket but I don't wanna buy a new ticket and essentially throw 100 quid down the drain

You have been able to upgrade either via the App or at the Box Office before. Whether or not it’s worth it is another matter...

  7. Haim are at Latitude so won’t be here.

if you believe there will be a female headliner LDR is still most likely IMO.

We know she is about as she is doing Prima. Since Emily Eavis’ comment that Glastonbury would be her only UK Fest LDR has cancelled an entire UK tour which opens the door to APE I think.

Not a fan of BBC personally but the rest of the line up looks decent enough. If they price it similarly to the Kooks/Wombats day it will probably do quite well.

Overall it looks like they’ve decided to scale it down this year in terms of the bands booked. ATM I’m unlikely to go to any of the days so far although I might try and pick a ticket up for Kraftwerk nearer the time.

If this is to survive beyond this year I think they need to reduce the GA price on all days to something like The Kooks day and then not offer any freebies under any circumstances.

A day at a gig/festival is pretty expensive these days (£6.50 a pint of San Miguel at Kentish Town last night!) It’s not a surprise that people are desperately hunting around for better value.

Late entry to this thread as we've only just decided to go but somebody on here will hopefully be able to answer this....

Is the super-dooper VIP ticket with access to "VIP viewing area" some kind of posh out of the way VIP area which is nowhere near as much fun as being in the crowd or does it mean "still in the crowd but in the circle down the front"?

I've never been down the front at the festival because I have a bladder made of paper so if it's the second option I may upgrade us.

Not worth it IMO. At APE you can generally find somewhere to sit down and queues for bar/food/bogs are not excessive unless you go at absolutely peak times. It’s easy enough to get to the front if need be but I suppose if you are Uber paranoid it will give you a comfort blanket.

I thought it would be useful, to maybe do a list of potential headliners for the remainder two days - just based on certain people touring and playing at other festivals - I may have got this all wrong, so apologies if so:

    The Libertines
Lana Del Rey (if Emily Eavis doesn't classify this as a festival)
    Placebo
    Foo Fighters
    Flume
    Pet Shop Boys
    Four Tet
    Vampire Weekend
    Two Door Cinema Club
    Lizzo
    Solange

I think you can add The Stereophonics to that list. A number of summer dates but none in the South of England yet. O2 gig on 6 March hence no announcement yet. If you chucked in the likes of Editors and Suede I think you’d sell some tickets.

what are people reckoning to Vampire Weekend being on the second weekend? (sorry if its been discussed already) I figure could happen as aren't those days often supposedly "curated" by the artist? V.W support a lot of up and coming acts etc. Also are close with Bon Iver / Vernon who played last year.  Although in a time crisis episode from last year E. mentioned turning down some fests for reasons that "go beyond a paycheck" (along those lines). Maybe the big American Express, samsung, big corp presence is a turn off .

Think they are only available the first weekend but could still play I reckon

  12. According to fine website Efestivals The Kooks have already been announced for This is Tomorrow, Kendal Calling, Tramlines, Truck, Boardmasters and Victorious. They are headlining one (Truck)

The Wombats have already been announced for Neighbourhood Festival, which they are not headlining.

It’s astonishing they could not come up with something better/different to this
