Can anyone elaborate on the 'get to the front' wristbands i've seen mentioned on here? What are they, how do they get allocated and what do they get you? Is there info on the BST website about them?

I have early entry tickets for The Cure but I was only planning to get there for Slowdive, would I be able to get some of these wristbands?

You have to get there quite early and immediately go into the front portion accessed from the left as you look at the stage. There will be staff handing out wristbands which will give you access to the front part all day and allow you to come and go. If you arrive too late and the wristbands have gone you won’t be able to get into the front bit at all. Your early entry ticket won’t help you if you don’t get there in time. This has been the case for the last few BST events I’ve been to. Obviously if there is a gold circle thing going on you would need one of those rip off tickets to get in but for The Cure I think it’s just a get in early job.

Hi, does anyone know what it is like to take a kid to one of these things. Looks like we may only be able to come with our infant daughter if at all due to babysitting issues. We know we can get her in, but don't want to if it is going to be horrendous for her.

It is busy but there are places at the back and down the side where there is seating etc. however these are not really within earshot of the main stage. The crowd thins out as you go back but there’s nothing specific for kids so doable but not ideal would be my answer

  3. Much busier than the Bjork day yesterday with some quite big queues at times but still a very good day in the sunshine. They fenced off the whole West Stage area. Thought maybe they could have kept that open if only as a chill out area.

Enjoyed Amber Run and Spoon but was a little disappointed with TWOD, perhaps I was expecting too much. Only lasted a few songs from The National as was feeling a bit “tired”

Keep refreshing the app for the set times. They do seem to change at rather short notice.

Looking forward to seeing Nick Cave today. What a brilliant addition to the summer this festival has been.

  4. Had a great day yesterday. Highlights for me were Beck and Django Django. It was very hot but thankfully avoided the thunderstorms.

For those going next week bag search and metal detector checks and everyone had to walk past a police dog.

looking forward to The National and Cave next weekend.

Delighted with the stage times and I think it has worked out as well as it could have considering the amount of good acts playing. Only going for the first two days but my plan for the two days is:

Friday: Gerd Janson > Chromeo > Glass Animals > Chet Faker > Phoenix > LCD
Saturday: Despacio > Rhye >  Soulwax > Hunee > Justice > The XX

The fact that I am even getting to see all of those acts is amazing, thought the clashes would be a lot worse! I will be very disappointed if they are only selling cans of strongbow.. Surely somewhere will be selling pints of lager.. Anyone know are there any good bars around the area for a pint or two before going into the festival?

If you are walking up from Mile End station there is a pub on the right hand side as you go up. There is also a pub on the roundabout just before you go in but that will be rammed.

  6. The perfect headliner for “Saturday night” could be Suede as they have a song called that of course, which would be rather annoying as I’m in Wales for FN6 that w/e.

May is very late to be announcing IMO.
