hiyaI emailed them to ask about the box office being open on the Tuesday - big fat nope - it's open at 8am Wednesday - only slight bonus is the International tickets may be a little less manic than the other box office...

Interesting... any Irish here with a campervan ticket? They'll need theirs on Tuesday

I had requested delivery to Ireland along with car park ticket but it looks as if il need to change to collection. 3rd Glastonbury and never had issues b4 with tickets.

Yep, that's why we got ours updated to delivery - no info on how we'd get in to the car park without our passes (or how to even get to the box office from the car parks which is normally at the coach drop off)

Good thinking @TheDayman.  And here in solidarity with you !

I know I updated the other thread yesterday but just to let you know where I am again ... waiting on 8 tickets to be delivered to Irish addresses.   My order tracker (for 2 of those tickets) updated yesterday to say tickets in stock and will be despatched shortly to the address provided.  I was initially delighted with this bit of good news but having read the other threads, apparantly lots of people have had this update on their tracker for weeks now !!

The other 6 waiting on tickets all still have the 'tickets will be send by secure post' message on their trackers.

Not filled with hope and I agree, if they are not miraculously despatched by COB of business tomorrow, we're in trouble.

    Yeah, we've 7 tickets across 4 addresses.

3 of the addresses (which are 6 tickets) are "Tickets will be sent be secure post. A signature may be required", while one is "Tickets are in stock and will be despatched shortly to the address provided".

That single tickets has had that status for at least 3 weeks now though. I wonder if that adds any weight to the theory that they're holding back Irish tickets to eventually default to box office...

traveling from Dublin on the Monday - so we bailed this morning and got switched back to International Box Office Collection - not ideal but I must say i feel MUCH calmer now and letting myself get excited

We're in the same boat as you, heading across by Ferry on Monday to Bristol via. Holyhead. If they even gave us some detail on the box office like confirming it will be open from Tuesday (which I'm guessing they might need for the campers), I'd happily do the same and drive up just to collect the tickets.

  5. I'm conscious that we don't want to ruin the buzz for all the International Contingent on their way to the farm so I've started a new thread for Irish tickets given how tight it is now. It'll be handy to keep any extra information any of us might get that could otherwise get lost elsewhere✌️

    • Thanks 1
  6. I was giving until midday today until I pulled a separate thread together on this (also I don't want to kill the vibe for all those real International travellers over in the International Contingent who have already started/starting their journeys to the farm!).

So I'm open to correction but it looks like no Irish (ROI) tickets have been sent so far and realistically, that needs to happen before COB tomorrow if they expect them to arrive to us a minimum of 7 days out from the festival. Hopefully by the end of the day we'll all have dispatch notices, the tickets arrive with no problems and this becomes a redundant thread. However if not, and given how template answer See Tickets are with their responses so far, I thought it might be a good idea to group together here. Strength in numbers and all that.

It will also be a good place to post any information you might get from See Tickets, through direct contact or otherwise, which might get lost somewhere else.

As I say, fingers crossed everything works out fine but if not, it's harder to ignore a group than individuals.

For your info, its not easy for unions to take strike action in the uk.

For public services, its and a minimum of 50% turnout amongst members and a majority but an additional minimum of 40% of all workers for a yes.

As it was for this one, it seems that turnout was 71% and 89% voted yes.

    So a broad consensus.

Whilst I agree that scrunity is always reasonable, I also tend to have faith that a large majority of RMT members are probably the reasonable ones (along with any other workers who take the decision to strike) rather than the bosses of the rail companies. So my starting point would always be that if a strike is called, clearly many workers feel the same discontent with their pay and/or conditions and our instinct should be to back them. And lo and behold, if you read the details of this specific dispute, you find that they are in fact the reasonable ones

As I said, I was speaking in general terms. I don't disagree with anything you've said. As you'll see, my original comment was on a point which I felt needed more scrutiny, not on the validity of the strike itself.

They're not mutually exclusive, so many of us want to see them both given adequate recompense - along with many other workers.

My point was that if we're judging pay based on the potential of seeing something tragic, a paramedic should be paid far more.

I agree with Unions and do support those fighting for better pay and conditions. I don't however believe we should blindly support "just because" and feel it's extremely important that we allow the opportunity to be critical when examining the rationale for which new conditions are being argued.

*Edit: reading that again I just want clarify that I was talking in general terms when I mentioned blindly supporting. I'm not from the UK so I don't really have any knowledge of details of the strike so cant really have much of an opinion

With responsibility for several hundred passengers in a hurtling tin can and people that chose to end their lives infront of your cab.   How much would YOU want to do that job?

I don't want to get into the debate on this but felt I needed to point out that a paramedics starting and average wage is lower than a train driver.

8 (being posted to Ireland) haven't been despatched yet (not in any way grand !)

    Definitely squeaky bum time !

Someone suggested in another thread that maybe See Tickets have no intention of sending to Ireland and that they'll all default to box office in the coming days.

I'm starting to think this might be the case given we're yet to hear of any ROI tickets being sent and given how much push back some people (including yourself?) got when they requested the change to delivery...

We stupidly missed the boat on getting the tickets posted to us. Should have looked into it far earlier!

It'll be interesting to see when the email and details come out for International bookings. I think the Box Office collection is going to be bedlam regardless, especially if there's a need now to pick up car parking passes aswell as the general festival ticket.

But it's a first world problem, and I think the pro's will far outweigh the cons!

You might actually be better off in the end. As the delivery time became tighter, I rang customs to get an idea if they'd delay it. The chap told me the process is automated now but if See Tickets don't declare it correctly, there's a chance they'll get delayed there too (in short, tickets are treated like invitations so don't have an inherent value themselves. However if SeeTickets mislabel, the system might automatically send them for manual review which will in turn delay delivery)

Yeah they did the same for me but not dispatched as yet! Anyone get the dispatch mail on tickets going to Ireland

We're 0/7 out of our group (all delivery to Dublin).

We've one resale ticket that the status has been "Tickets are in stock and will be despatched shortly to the address provided" for as long as we've been checking it (so maybe 2-3 weeks) and another batch of 3 with the status "Tickets will be sent by secure post. A signature may be required on delivery".

It's hard not to be nervous, isn't it? 😂

    I got a similar response

"If your address isn’t UK, your tickets/carpass will go for collection."

Unless I'm mistaken, I thought you needed a carpass to get into the car parking areas to begin with. Don't know how that's going to be managed as going by the above, and probably slightly overexaggerating here, we'd need to queue to pick up the carpasses, then park lord only knows where, then to head back to PGA box office to queue again 🤔

Yeah, thats what I highlighted to SeeTickets to get mine updated to delivery (to Ireland). You'd have to assume they're going to have a separate area for box office this year though.

It's also key that they open it earlier than the festival gates too. Particularly given the festival opens for campers on a Tuesday but also because the queue/traffic will be wild if they don't.

One year (and this is genuine) my ticket was the only one that hadn't arrived. I called See Tickets and they said they hadn't sent them because they had been informed I had died. I attended the festival that year fearing it had been a chilling premonition of an impending OD/death in long drop. Thankfully I survived.

If you think you were scared, imagine what the person who answered the phone felt 😂

I've just emailed the festival highlighting the gap in information around the box office for those traveling from outside of the UK as well as asking what's the process if those of us in Ireland don't receive our tickets in time... I'll update here once I get something back.

I know See Tickets look after the ticketing but it's going to be a logistical nightmare if the festival doesn't have pedestrian routes sorted between the car parks and PGA

Unfortunately nothing we didn't already know in the response back -

"Those with international bookings should receive information on the box office collection soon and at least 7 days prior to the festival

The team at See Tickets should be able to advise on the ticket process"

It’s official. Seetickets have no logic when it comes to sending out tickets.

My housemate has had his email confirmation but I’ve not had mine. They’re going to the same house!!

Given how bespoke the Glasto tickets are, I doubt SeeTickets actually print them so they're probably just sending as and when they receive them from the printers.

Maybe it's related to when we paid the balance/confirmed the ticket?

In 2019 the WV barcode emails were sent on 10 June, which means they should have been sent out yesterday if they are working to the same timeframe. Car park tickets were despatched on 12 June. But everything’s lagging because of the Jubilee last week.

Yeah but the Festival didn't start until 26th in 2019 so we've lost a few days there too.

All doom and gloom from me at the moment, I feel like The Nal in the weather thread! 😂

    @Alvoram @MoonBuggy

Scanners would be needed at all gates which would be a considerable one time expense. Each person scanning would need their own device. The devices will also need their own wireless network to run off as well as power for charging etc.

What works for a stadium based event works because they have all the infrastructure already there.

I’m not sure what power is available at each gate but it’s a lot of infrastructure to be brought in. When the festival isn’t on, the gates are literally a gate into a field.

Not impossible but it would be a big challenge to begin with.

All of what you've mentioned would be outsourced, so that infrastructure would never be owned by the festival but rather a service provided by whomever held that contract.
