It's a fair point. I'm a big fan of the Chemical Brothers but I can admit that is largely built around nostalgia of my big clubbing years in the 2000s. I think if we're being honest 'Born In The Echoes' wasn't great so you need to go back to 2010 to find the last good record they made, however as you say no one bats an eyelid about them being a shoe-in for one of the highest slots on the bill outside Pyramid headliner.
Having said that MAH is an absolutely banger and suggests they've found their way again.
2I couldn't agree more about MAH - what a tune.
Paired with 'Free Yourself' from a few months before, I can't help but be genuinely excited about their new album this Spring. Neither songs would feel out of place on 'Surrender' or 'Come With Us'.
I think if the new album is as good as the two songs they've released already, it's going to be Chemical Brothers on the Pyramid for Saturday. My feeling is that they'd be too strong an act to stick on The Other Stage at the same time as The Strokes. -

One thing that certainly ran true is that it's just too big to see everything in one go. 5 days and still so many places I didn't get to properly see! Looks like I'll have to go again alright

Finally got around to cleaning up a photo I took of the Monday morning sunrise; thought I'd share it here in case anyone is either in the photo or would like another nice memory for 2017!
Side note: After 5 years of trying (and failing) to get tickets, I finally got to make my way to across to something I'm still finding difficult to describe to my friends. Any expectation I had was exceeded 10 fold. From the performances to the attention to detail to the sheer scale of the event; it was truly awe-inspiring.
Also big thanks to the many people of this forum for all the advice I managed to grab in the lead-up, got some priceless info here! #SpaceBlanket

Yeah, I know you can barbecue and build camp fires etc. but given the heightened security, I wasn't sure if bringing a bottle of highly flammable liquid on site might be an issue going through the security search.Sure I'll give it a whirl!

We're staying in close enough to Paddington Station so I'll have a look and see if there are any stores along the underground that I can deliver to. Thanks again! -
Can anyone advise on where I might be able to get my hands on some boxes of wine in central London? I know Sainsburys have them on their websites but I'm assuming the "Sainsburys Local" stores that are dotted around London are smaller so I'm questioning if they stock them.
(Flying in to London on the Tuesday ahead of the festival)

Is it possible to bring a small amount of methylated spirits in to the festival for use in a camping stove?
We're flying in from Ireland so can't bring a gas canister. I do have a spirit burning camping stove though...

Saw them last year at Electric Picnic - they're still absolutely rocking it.
Really liking their latest album, No Tourists, too. Some serious bangers on it. Paired with the latest tunes the Chemical Brothers have been putting out of late (MAH is epic) we might have a bit of a renaissance year on our hands. Somebody call Faithless and Basement Jaxx and tell them to get the finger out!
