This might be a stupid question but are spirits sold in plastic anywhere in the UK? I've only seen glass, so I'm expecting to have to pour into a plastic bottle, but if there's a way to buy them in plastic to begin with I will do that.

I'm pretty sure I've seen at least tequila in plastic bottles before but as @crazyfool1 has said, its less common as I would assume it would need to be a specific type of plastic.

We've bought a few cheap metal thermal bottles in Primark (€4.50 so maybe £3/4 in the UK). They're perfect for spirits and as they empty you can use them to carry ice if you're lucky enough to find some!

I’d not be at all surprised if See & GFL have lost people over the forced covid break with experience managing the ticket operation. 🙁 Bit like the chaos at airports… when you’ve been scaled right back and lots of the expertise has moved on, getting back to normal is tough.

Don’t think Royal Mail can claim that excuse though!

I've no doubt that's the case and tbf, the live events industry was disproportionately affected.

That said, a lot of people have pointed out these oncoming issues well in advance to See and the Festival. People are even tweeting Emily directly as well as cc'ing See's CEO on their emails. I can understand gaps in knowledge as a result of covid but people are literally highlighting the problems directly to the top brass but it seems to be falling on deaf ears.

Anywho, here's hoping this is all just sensationalism and everything works out fine when we get there! I'll never be as happy to be proven wrong!

Onwards and upwards, we're nearly there! 🥳

Exactly.  Royal Mail have failed SeeTickets and Glastonbury Festival in their contract which was to provide next day, signed for delivery.  If they had done this, they would have known where the ticket was.  Additionally, SeeTickets need more customer service people to help sort things out if they do go wrong.

Tbh, I have less issues with Royal Mail than I do with See.

Final delivery is only one part of, what might be, a complete and utter shitshow come Wednesday morning. For example, a strategic decision was made to not post international tickets and its becoming more and more apparent that they have no plan in place to distribute what is going to be an exceptionally larger number of tickets left for box office collection.

People are also being told that the parking passes that weren't sent in time will need to be sent back for a refund (and they will now need to pay again at the gate). Others are being told to park at PGA to pick up their tickets (which lets be honest, is never going to be allowed).

There's no clear pedestrian routes - other than the road - from the car parks for those who need to get back to the box office at PGA.

It's all pointing to a clear disconnect with the on the ground logistics of the festival and there seems to be zero planning in place to mitigate against the disruption their decisions may cause.

I really hope all will goes well but right now, the evidence is starting to point towards a messy start and at a minimum, probable traffic issues.

Sorry, long rant but it's so frustrating...

Latest from See on the parking passes (not what they told me at all, but what a mate of mine just received)…absolute mess!

This is more principal than anything else but they want to be refunding the postage too.

  5. So confirmation just recieved from An Post that they won't be sent until Monday.

To the Irish Contingent who got theirs this week - did the postman require a signature? Wondering if they'll put them through the letter box.

  6. Ah, tbf I'm in no way concerned about getting in.

If I can get them to him @snipe has very kindly offered to bring them across with him on Tuesday (thanks again!) but it's still annoying that they've added this extra hassle. They've also only sent 4/7 so half our group will still have to go to the box office first and double queue on Wednesday morning.

Anyway on a far more positive note, the whole ticket fiasco seems to have brought everyone a bit closer on here, which is really great!

Making our final preparations to leave for Glastonbury in a few hours time.  It’s absolutely pissing down here, really heavy rain. Neighbours are looking at me in amazement wearing shorts packing lager and bags into the car. Meanwhile the river at our front door is rising.  Somerset can’t come quick enough!

Glasto weather aside, how lovely is it to have that river at your front door!

  8. Does anyone know what service the tickets are sent with? Might be worth looking at the T&C's. April 2022 version for Royal Mail Tracked 24/48 with signature states the following under clause 14.2:

We will use reasonable efforts to collect a signature from a person at the Intended Recipient’s address. If we are unable to collect such signature:

14.2.1 because although there is a person at the Intended Recipient’s address, that person refuses to provide a signature (and there is no other person who will provide a signature), then we will return the Item to the return sender address; or

14.2.2 for any other reason (other than where we make a Change under clause 3.17), then we will deal with that Item in accordance with clause Error! Reference source not found

I will leave D6 at 3.30pm Tuesday for the airport. If someone can get them to me before then I'll meet you in Bristol Tuesday night (9pm ish) with them if that is any use to you at all.

What a kind offer, thanks man! I may very well take you up on that (and buy you plenty of pints as a thank you!)

Unbelievable !!  What time do ye leave on Monday?  Is your post usually delivered early?  When did you email then out of interest?  I emailed them earlier too but haven't heard back.

The ferry is at 8am so no chance we'll be here for the post.

My other half, who got here's in the resale, has received both an email to say she needs to collect at the box office and then a few hours later, that her tickets have been dispatched.

Just making sure we have an email trail now because I don't want to be met with the same stupid shit others have had.

Got a reply to me pointing out that there's never any stopping/parking around PGA -

"You would need to speak to the stewards on the day as to where you would/wouldn’t be able to stop."

Kind of confirms what someone else said - they did really say "international people pick up their tickets and, yeah, beer time!"

You should link the festival email address in on that thread now. Looks like traffic management is their issue as far as See is concerned

@glastopia on twitter posted this. It looks like tickets will be available when the box office is closed from an adjacent security hut.

I think that might only be for those with campervans?
