True to all of the above. I'd love to see her play EOTR, some of the names being put forward are a bit stale. I mean who hasn't seen Idles by now?! Whereas she would be an exciting booking. Hoping that the poster has quite a few unforeseen bookings.

Not against having them on the bill but Adrianne Lenker, Alex G and Baxter Dury would all be extremely disappointing as headliners and stepdown in size of what went before.

Yeah I think you’re right. Though my point stands, I don’t think they will hurt ticket sales to announce in February when the event is almost in September.

There’s still so much time. A lot of festivals in early summer only announcer recently and CM end of the Summer. End of the Road and Green Man yet to announce anyone also.

Have seen them live. They are neither particularly good, nor particularly bad. What they have is the music industry fully behind them.

With you on this. Who knows why they didn't book them but there are a tonne of valid reasons why they might not be able to make it work and they don't control bands' touring routes. If they booked these bands but not Pulp, PJ Harvey and Justice, there'd be complaining about that instead.

I reckon it’s as simple as the age old PR trick to get people talking about this mysterious missing act. Santander must be writing quite a big cheque for sponsorship (certainly covering The National’s fee) and as such they don't want Ciutat to go under the radar.

What's the usual gap from pre-announcement to lineup announcement?

With the National (and Yo La Tengo) playing elsewhere, Friday has got even worse and yet Thursday is Megaclash Central. Might just watch only the smallest font names only or get drunk and pass out somewhere free from any FOMO.

Think the trick with Ciutat is not to think of it a festival day but as a club night. Normally if you went to a gig and saw two bands you enjoyed in one night that would be an amazing result. At Ciutat that is pretty achievable particularly given the quality of the ‘supports’.
