I've never heard the sound so good. I was halfway or more back and it was like being in an IMAX

...and still they pulled off one of the greatest headline sets of all time. Blur, Radiohead 97, Stones, REM 99 Macca, Coldplay 16, Elton, Bowie, Cure 19

Eh? The only way I can imagine how you arrived at this conclusion was that somone pissed in your wellies.

The reason why headliners and overall lineups this year seem underwhelming? Because the public are suckers for being TOLD what is good. Lineups are picked on the basis of who the industry tell you that you are supposed to like, when in fact, a lot of these artists are f**king shite with 8 or 9/10 reviews from reviewers who are self satisfied gurners pretending their finger is on the pulse. If the industry wants an act to succeed it gets the airplay and you hear it over and over again until you think it ACTUALLY is good. So, the top end of lineups appear poor, because they're diluted by crap. People moaning about LCD and PJ Harvey being poor picks to be high up? Mental. THEY'RE not the problem. The undercards are actually good too, you just have to do your research as they're not getting pushed. Before you moan about lineups, actually listen to stuff outside what's getting pushed on you. The lineup for Glasto, as ever, will be boss, you might just have to look beyond the Pyramid for it.

Streaming figures are worldwide and prone to massive recency bias. Therefore selecting an artist with huge streaming figures but no local legacy, it provokes a wow from the global tiktok gen, but a shrug from people of "average" music interest

Are the same people moaning about LCD and PJ Harvey headlining the field on the basis of crowd size the same people saying SZA crowd size doesn't matter and she scores really high critically? That Friday is shaping to be an excellent night of music for those who want to be there. PJ Harvey - genius LCD - awesome Coldplay - you know will put on the best live spectacle of the weekend and will probably have the biggest crowd I may be at all three, or none, depending on options, but that's a pretty good top 3.

There are rules. This isn't Nam.

Assume you mean NEITHER is a thing?

Black Pumas are ace.

Why? That's not like a Foos National vibe. LCD and Coldplay last time was talked about as one of the worst clashes of all time. Surely them being aligned next to each other makes complete sense. I'd be there for both with bells on...

Really well before Coldplay I'd say.

Dammit. Out of upvotes again.

So you think "people" know more SZA tunes? Nope. She also doesn't have any "oh I didn't know this was her", which Stevie does. Also, if you added up to total vibes of all SZA songs and packed them into one "make your own banger" kit, it wouldn't go off as hard and epicly as Edge of Seventeen. Ergo, Stevie Nicks, on that logic is a better headliner. I ain't saying she will or should headline over SZA, but I can categorically bet my house and the crown jewels (in the event that the bookies don't want a big mortgage and I happen to find the crown jewels in a bin outside Charlie's gaff after a mad Magaluf bender) that Stevie Nicks will have a bigger and more euphoric crowd than SZA.

I've already set up a ponzi where I'm putting bets on for other people...
