  1. I left yesterday evening from the lower Trent Campervan field…

towing a caravan with a AWD truck and I got stuck with about 2 feet left…an easy short tow from one of the crew and I was away…

I hated leaving early but there was little on Sunday that was a draw for us..

unfortunately I think they will have some challenges getting folk out of Lower Trent tomorrow and I didn’t want to be part of that..

The rest of the site had recovered very well by Saturday evening I hope they don’t get too much rain today..

    We will return…

what happend with dexys?? I read on attilla the stockbrokers FB that there was a sign up saying they had cancelled but then they played but the singer was chatting to his band mate for most of it. is this true??

They did do this weird (almost creepy) schtick between the 2 of them where they were asking questions of each other for far too long and the fella (I think it is Sean Read?) also sang lead/joint and wasn’t the most tuneful…

whereas I thought Kevin Rowland gave it a proper go when he sang…

Genius & Eilleen went down well of course…

I would give them a 5/10, not bad considering I was worried it was going to be a 1/10

  3. I will admit to being less inclined towards the ‘shouty’ than most on here.. and so thoroughly enjoyed my first view of Future Islands… Samuel T Herring, what a bloke..!

I was blown away by how good Big Moon were.. fantastic vocal harmonies

image.thumb.png.cff3e5db5b470c276cd71d1fd4b995cd.pngJust arrived on site in camper. We are in this field and absolutely no problems getting in due to the stones up road you see just below our position. The field below this one through the hedge towards to arena is currently empty so I guess they fill this next. When we drove past the fields on the other side looked a bit more hazardous with vans dotted about.
Can’t believe how easy it all was!!!

I am in the ‘more hazardous, vans dotted about’ lower Trent field… got here mid afternoon wednesday.

the field had a dip that runs top right to bottom left and yesterday was ankle deep in water… they had towed a number of vans through said dip to the far end of the field where the ground is not too bad tbf…

we towed the caravan in under our own steam (just) but I drive a chunky 4x4, and they stopped trying to bring vans in about an hour after we arrived.. and no more have come onto the field today..

the challenge will be getting people out..

the main arena is sloppy mud and will improve as long as the rain stays away..

as people have said, Woodlands has remained closed for 2 days…

beer is good, food is good and there is plenty of good music… make the most of it folks.!

Does anyone know what time the bars etc will be open on the Wednesday? presume you can pitch up from 9am? i wont be there till near 3pm, wondered if bars are open, or is it just milling at the camp till 5pm?

    Bars

This year we will be operating 6 bars throughout the main festival arena, serving at all the main stages. The bars will be open from midday, Wednesday to Sunday. You will be allowed to bring your own alcohol into the arena, but we ask that you please help to support the festival to keep the ticket price down by spending money at the bars. Brewer information can be found here:

Chetwynd is fine for cars and motorcycles both for ingress and egress, the issue is the wider vehicles

Not sure they will use Walton on egress, it's been an issue for years with traffic blocking the village, ok for ingress as its more spread out though.

Ah no.. I meant that vans would turn left on the A513 towards Tamworth, NOT right over Chetwynd..

to your point though, there will be queues on Monday whatever happens… it’s the very nature of moving a large amount of folk in a small amount of time.. (hoping to breeze in Wednesday morning mind 😉)

I would assume that they would be able to make the Chetwynd Bridge one way for 90% of the time…? And taking caravans / campervans off down the A513 towards Tamworth should ease it.?

do you think they could exit Northbound Campervans left through Walton.? Or is that bridge also knackered.??

It may be a nightmare if (like me) you are in a caravan / Campervan on A513 and someone breaks down… ? it’s quite a way to Tamworth

I doubt it will be smoother with all the localised roadworks and the traffic restrictions on the Chetwynd Bridge.

    DELICIOUS FOOD 😋

Our list of food vendors is updated for the 2024 festival! We have hand selected a yummy bunch of tasty treats for you to tuck into while you're at the festival.

We've got fan favourites the Texas Smokery and Truly Crumptious back again, plus plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options from the likes of Creative Intentions, Food in the Belly and more! Festival-staples like the Paelleria (how can you resist a bit of Spanish cuisine in the sunshine!?), as well as more global flavours with Indian, Lebanese, Chinese, Italian and Greek options all on the table.

  10. Yog, I don't like to see you getting so wound up fella...

You will always get knobs trying to take advantage of situations but the reality is that the winners are people that are genuinely thrilled to be going to Glastonbury (even if they are not of this parish)..

Whilst I have entered 2 or 3 of the online competitions, I have elected not to drive around Cambs in search of chocolate, cheese and beer.. I have put my faith in the resale team for the first time this year and if it doesn't happen on Sunday, I will stop chasing..

It’s been a few years since I’ve stayed there but they were no more strict than East. If anything they were more relaxed. I don’t think you’d have any issues.

ah... Thanks for the info @t0paz, i havent seen any photo's and imagined it to be more regimented (in a caravan park styli)

If i get lucky in the resale, accommodation resale is only a short while after and I like to be prepped in case there isnt a lot of choice.. (CV East being my preference)

I’m 7 bars in …. I’ve stopped at that … but have figured out the correct amount of insulin to inject to match half a bar 😂don’t even need tickets . I was hoping to send some on

you are a good man @Crazyfool01but are you allowed to gift the tickets on..?? I thought in most cases the tickets went to you and a guest?

October Drift on Monday btw.... so if i am left miserable on Sunday, I will have something to cheer me up 🙂

This is the first time in 7 years that I'm in a position to help other people without having to scramble for our own tickets; also someone else got our tickets in November so I feel I need to pay it forward.  After mulling it over I've concluded I can pay if I get through tomorrow, but can't cover the cost of 4 tickets for Sunday. If I'm lucky enough to get a booking page on Sunday I'll need someone from the group to give me card details and verification code if required. Once you're through to payment the tickets are held for 5 minutes, which should be enough time for details to be passed on and for me to input them.

Good luck everybody, and remember to double and triple check those reg nos and postcodes!

Thanks @dizzymoo it is very much appreciated… I am in Group 12 and would be happy to share details on Sunday (my daughters & BF’s are in Group 11 and I can be called for those also…)

Great to have efesters willing to help!

Sometimes I don’t know how I feel about these ticket competitions that play into the hype of how difficult it is to buy Glastonbury tickets (or, I suppose, how demand far exceeds supply). Part of me thinks that the competitions are a result of the festival being over commercialised (which I do realise it probably has to be these days for financial reasons) but nonetheless it just becomes and feels a bit tacky and against the ethos of the festival for people to engage in overconsumption for a ticket so that a company can make an Instagram reel. I suppose I say this because I’m jaded and haven’t got a ticket, so easy for me to be negative and hasn’t stopped me from entering.

    Jaded...

    the perfect sentiment.

Of course I want to go but the whole ticket getting process just has me wanting it to be over and done this weekend, so I can move on...

I had a great run from 2007 to 2019, that I always thought was down to my organisation and preparedness.. But (assuming the worst this weekend) missing 2 out of 3 will definitely have me moving closer to a "cant be arsed" attitude..

This coming weekend will be warmer and sunnier.

After that the best guess is a return to more unsettled but drier overall weatgher.

Currently there are no signs of any prolonged warm dry weather but more than 2 weeks ahead things can and do change lots.

The good news is the ground is drying and will continue to do so.

    👍

A repeat of last years conditions would be a dream..

Find it interesting everyone's had issues with the line-up but seem fairly happy with the acoustic this year. I've not heard of a good half of the artists there! Just shows how subjective it can be.

Im with you... This is the one stage announced to date that i dont think I will be visiting (apart from a beer in Cockmill at some point)
