just checked again, and not the gap I thought. You'd imagine Sunday Pyramid would be perfect for her.

Yeah I was thinking West Holts headliner for Alicia, nice & cosy, but I guess that'd get too rammed

I seen Alicia Keys was keen to do Glasto in 2020 even as a secret slot and had a gap, decent gap this time as well, presumably no interest from the fest?

Would absolutely love to see Alicia at the farm - maybe next year 🤞

With all the ridiculously wild suggestions being thrown around (Eminem, Rhianna, etc) got me thinking... when has someone 'big' ever actually gone out of their way to make the trip to the farm to guest on a song?

Obviously we've had friends of the festival (looking at you Chris!) and acts already playing, turn up for other sets (eg: The Boss with Gaslight Anthem) but from memory, i cant think of a big surprise act thats popped up as a guest.

And cue the wave of instances to prove me wrong...

Lou Reed with Gorillaz was a bit of moment.... and The Edge with Muse.....? Neither playing elsewhere those years AFAIR.

John Paul Jones with Seasick Steve?

Probably some much bigger ones too but those surprised me at the time

  4. Tubes in London won't really start running until 8am on the Wednesday because of the tube strike on Tuesday 21st. I'm booked on the coach from the O2 at 9am Wednesday, and will struggle to get there by then (I'm in west London). Can't get there Tuesday and stay over because *everything's* on strike...

Does anyone know if coaches wait for remaining passengers at all? Maybe they would with all this delay going on?

And if not..... and I could find another way to the festival (a mate's car perhaps).... will I be able to get my admission ticket from the box office?

(Just a little panic setting in now...)

Don’t see the appeal of Brothers myself.... don’t they solely sell very sweet, very sickly, strong fruit ciders?

Yeah it's perry (pear cider) with various syrup additions - personally, I love it! Toffee Apple breakfast is my start to the day....

Didn’t realise Hawking had been there, he must have had a huge crowd.

I seem to remember he pulled out and ended up not appearing in the end, which was a shame. Anyone else remember and can confirm / deny?

    edit: it’s true! https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/festivals/glastonbury-2015-stephen-hawking-pulls-out-of-festival-due-to-personal-reasons-10349017.html

Don't we basically know now though?

    • Glade Stage - Big new tent on the map
    • Glade Dome - In the glade where the Main stage used to be
    • The Spike - Where it's always been
    • Glade Café / Bar - Probably no reason for this to move from it's position between Glade and Other

I could be wrong but that's what I'm expecting now.

Spike quite a bit bigger and more open apparently - hopefully still with a stage (maybe even a bigger stage?)

I thought the Glade Café/Bar was on the other side, as you head past Spike towards Greenpeace? And the bar between Glade & Other was not really linked - was it called the Solstice Bar or something?

Does this mean The Spike is just a bar and won't have DJs now then?

Yeah I was worried about that too, since there's no mention at all of any acts for the Spike. They used to have real (good!) bands there before as well - hope they still do in their new expanded form, had some great boogies up there....

West Holts for me too, saw more acts there in 2019 than any other stage - 6.

Something mid/late afternoon that’s where I’ll likely be, and first acts on I often go to WH or Acoustic as I’m coming in via Gate C so it’s the convenient option.

Nothing to do with Brothers Bar being there of course…

One of my top Glasto spots too, but my mates' routine starts earlier: we have a habit of gathering at WH as soon as it's starting (11 normally) for a breakfast Toffee Apple cider from the Bro's, with hopefully something chilled yet groovy and a bit jazz-worldy just coming on stage. What a perfect start to the day! (And it usually just gets better from there....)

  10. Dear old Jeremy Hardy, what a loss. Managed to talk to him briefly at his last Glasto appearance, what a lovely guy, and incredibly funny
