  1. The Last Dinner Party - stunning on Woodsies last year, and just gone stratospheric since then. Other Stage this year!
  2. Yes missed their first tour which sold out very fast, but very keen to catch up with the Black Pumas
  3. He'd pop out pretty sharpish if he heard Kylie or Stormzy start tuning up downstairs....
  4. Would be fantastic, his live shows are incredible! Finished a tour a few months ago, so I’d say it’s not too likely, but I’d definitely be there if he plays!
  5. They ask for proof now if you do things like that - recent utility / council tax / polling card sort of thing

    2024 Headliners

    That's the mane thing
  7. Yes, if See just issued a statement saying that they're aware of the issue, and though they won't be taking action against those who used it this time, in future sales they will detect and void all sales that weren't on the official 'blessed' servers after they've gone through They might well never actually do this, but the threat of it could be enough to put potential host-hackers off (or they could just configure those extra servers to not process Glastonbury tickets and then at least this hack is rendered void)
  8. You can test it yourself here: https://glastonbury.seetickets.com/content/extras
  9. My understanding is that in 2013, there was a typo in the server addresses in the load-balancer, which meant that one of the attached servers was not in use (because its IP address had been typed in wrongly). So when the actual IP address of the second server was discovered, it could be attached to using the hosts file entry and easily bought from
  10. Normally buying a Glasto ticket means waiting for a buying slot on one of a handful of dedicated computers, aka servers, that See make available for this task, and to access them you go through the normal https://glastonbury.seetickets link. These servers, as we know, are heavily overloaded with handling these ticket transactions, so most of us are held at a waiting screen for our opportunity to transact with them. But it appears that See also have some other ticket servers, either held in reserve in case one of the main ones fails, or indeed kept back from the Glasto ticket sale to service any other ticketing tasks for other events, as they wouldn't want to degrade the performance for these events just because the Glasto sale is on at the same time. However, these other servers *can* also sell Glasto tickets, if asked nicely, as they are connected to the same back-end See tickets system. So there is a hack you can do to your own computer's files to make it approach one of these ticking-over servers *as if it were* a dedicated Glasto ticket server, and it appears that under these conditions these spare servers will in fact then process the ticket application successfully. They are far less overwhelmed with requests for tickets, since they are not officially available to Glasto ticket buyers, so they are far easier to get an open ticket-buying slot on. So this 'hosts file' hack directs your request for a Glasto ticket (deposit) to one of these servers instead - and it works! (Not that I used it fwiw)
  11. Yes that was referring back to the 2013 'untargeted server' hosts file hack, and subsequent speculation about there being spare servers in case of any frontline servers falling over, which IIRC hadn't been discovered by that point
  12. I'm no expert at all, but could it be that the IP addresses of a handful of See ticket servers were noted during sales of tickets for other events, and today they were co-opted into buying Glasto tickets?
  13. Auto Refresh Page seems pretty good - but probably any with any decent reviews is fine
  14. But presumably we only really *need* to clear the seetickets.com cookies & cache? Saves all the re-logging in, etc. for other sites?
  15. I did last year when the payment system was a bit f***ed up and Monzo when through swimmingly after my NatWest had screwed up
  16. Out of interest, how did you know that you had the "refreshing too fast" issue at work? I've never been able to tell whether the holding page I see is the normal one or the refreshing-too-fast one, so I'd be interested in any tips.....
  17. I *think* if you get a white screen, you've nothing to lose by closing the browser and starting again - paging Parson Jack.....
  18. I think at least one of the auto-refreshers will stop refreshing if it simply detects that the url of the page has changed from the one it was started on, so this wouldn't need you to find a specific word to detect

    Talking Heads

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Glasto *did* offer a headline slot to a reformed Talking Heads - not a small event by any means
  20. Gladys Knight on her farewell tour next June - London on the Thursday, Swansea on the Saturday.... Surely she'll be stopping off midway on the farm on the Friday?? https://gladysknight.com/show-dates/
  21. Ooh yes that sounds fantastic, will have to find this....
  22. If you registered any time from the start of 2020 onwards, then you don't need to do anything. If your registration dates from before 2020, you need to just go into your details and confirm that you want to keep the registration (optionally updating your photo and/or personal details) https://glastonbury.seetickets.com/registration/lookup No great panic - you've got until Monday 2nd Oct to do it
  23. Yeah, time of day.... always (nearly always) start my Glastoday at West Holts with a pint of Brothers toffee-apple cider with the mates planning the day (that never works out like that), but Avalon is often a wonderful mid-afternoon marvel, especially when it has a decent heritage act; West Holts bar really came into its own this year as the de-facto meeting point, with some brilliant acts of its own after-hours; and have *really* loved some Pyramid headliners in last few years; but the real after-hours places for me (not really a SE corner dude) are Small World, Lizard (esp. when they're doing some world or afrobeat DJ-ing) and I have a very soft spot for early morning and late night Cabaret - so, dunno! We're a bit spoiled rly aren't we

    Glastocam!

Was on-site about 3 weeks ago, and the fields in front of el Pointio were getting a trim at the time. Maybe there's just one guy working their way around the site...... slowly....
