  1. There do seem to be quite a lot of sites with similar instructions to unlock them so I reckon it must be possible. I don't have enough knowledge to judge which site looks least dodgy though!

  2. Replace those freezer blocks with orange/apple juice cartons. You know, the sort you put in kiddies packed lunches? they work in exactly the same way as your freezer blocks (keep stuff cold) and you can drink 'em. Freezer blocks are useless weight.

Damn fine idea that! I used frozen bottles of water last year but will replace them with juice boxes this year, they'll be easier to fit in between other bits and bobs so will be a more efficient use of the space I would imagine. Thanks!

  3. YES to all of this! I'm a huge LTJ fan and seeing them at my favourite festival would be something else! I just can't see it happening myself though. RBF I could see going down really well but they're in USA over Glasto weekend. I would LOVE to see Save Ferris and No Doubt too but neither are together any more unless I'm mistaken?

 (we need a skanking smiley!)

  4. Honestly man up the toilets aren't *that* bad...people pissing in hedges is disgusting. I think it would be similar to going into Michaels living room and pissing all over his carpet.

  5. Chic is the only headliner I've ever "seen" on West Holts, and I couldn't see a thing! It didn't really bother me much to be honest, everyone near the back seemed to be dancing around more if they couldn't see the stage :dancer::dancer::dancer:

  6. I'm taking this one for keeping in touch with everyone onsite but will be taking my smartphone as well (switched off in the lockups except for checking on here / twitter now and again). It just seems a bit of a faff to me switching sim cards round, just make sure everyone has each others temporary numbers as well as usual ones then even if the cheap phone gets lost/broken it's no great loss.

  7. Two weeks for me, all of my fun things seem to fall in the space of a fortnight this summer!

I need the Tuesday off for the long drive down to the B&B in Yeovil and any chance of getting some sleep. Then off to London on the Monday after Glasto to stay with a mate and see Monty Python on the Tuesday, then drive back to Newcastle on the Wednesday. Curl up in a ball and cry on Thursday, then off to the Lake District Fri-Sun for a friend's hen do. Monday = as Thursday. Back to work on Tuesday - my colleagues have been warned!

  8. Thought this might be worth sharing...

O2 have a Nokia 100 handset they're selling for £5 with a free PAYG sim card that looks like it'll do the job of a temporary festival phone rather nicely. I've been able to get it for free using a cashback site too!

From the link it's the first option '3G pay and go go go' (it says £10 next to it but that's for a monthly contract) - https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/prepaysims/nokia/100-pink/?cmm_mmc=affiliate-_-47868-_-blank-_-blank

...and even better, if you have a Quidco cashback account already you can use the link below to take you to the o2 website so it tracks the sale and get £5 cashback so the phone is essentially free!

Yes it's pink ( ) but for a free festival phone I can deal with that! If anyone's interested I can let you know how long it takes for the cashback to arrive. Has anyone else found any bargains?

edit - the transaction has appeared in my Quidco account straight away so it's looking good to be a total freebie!!

  9. Leaving Newcastle around lunchtime on Tuesday and driving down to a B&B in Yeovil where we will attempt to get some sleep (herbal supplements may be necessary! ;))

Planning on leaving around 5:30am to drive up to the festival site. Hopefully this tactic will mean we'll have enough space to get all our group's tents put up and enough time for a power nap before they arrive!
