  1. I just remember having something similar in the past and spending quarter of an hour tediously winding it just to get a few minutes out of an old Nokia :)

Hehe yes don't worry I won't be relying on it for anything like that, but thanks for the advice! I'm thinking if the phone charging capabilities are going to be used at all it'll only be for a moment to be able to turn on a dead phone and write down a phone number (e.g. my sister with her iPhone last year :sarcastic:). I'd never thought of taking a radio to listen to Worthy FM at the campsite but now I've seen other people mentioning how much they enjoy it in the mornings I reckon I need to give it a go!

  2. Echoing whoever suggested fruit pots, I took a few of the Dole pots last year and they were spot on. They don't look much for the size but they are perfect if you're struggling to eat anything in the morning (or just fancy something slightly healthy) and stay fresh for ages. They do lots of varieties in either jelly or juice and they're on 5 pots for £2 in asda at the moment: http://groceries.asda.com/asda-webstore/pages/landing/home.shtml#/search/dole

  3. Over the weekend I have done the following:

    • Taken delivery of my replacement gas stove
    • Had a dream about Metallica
    • Watched 'Mission to Lars'
    • Booked a different (closer and cheaper!) B&B for the Tuesday night (must remember to cancel first booking)
    • Walked home in the r**n (NFR NFC!)
    • Started a new list for packing and campsite tips (I'm a proper list geek)
    • Glastobated over camping gadgets (mega-spork,and radio/light/charger particularly doing it for me atm!)

I also fired off my 'emergency resale announcement' saved text to a couple of friends and one has managed to get one so adding one more to our campsite :)

  4. Could do with some advice on this actually, I've been lucky enough to have my tent already pitched in previous years... I'm staying in Bristol the night before and driving 3 of us down early in the morning. We'll have 4/5 tents (2 fairly big ones) to put up in advance of the rest of our group arriving and want to get a decent spot in Big Ground again.

Any suggestions what sort of time we should be aiming to leave Bristol in the morning? I'm thinking 5/6ish but that's just a guess really. Any suggestions from people who have done similar before would be very much appreciated!

  5. Chucking down here too, btw. Lets get it out the way now.

Helen, was it you who was confused about the r*** stopping when you went to walk home? Don't worry about it, I think the fact that you were prepared to walk in it is the most important thing.

  6. Was about to walk to my bus stop in the r**n to appease the weather gods but it stopped as soon as I left the office.

I now have conflicted feelings - is this a bad thing (no sacrifice made) or good (no r**n)? Please advise oh wise NFR NFR elders!

  7. Ahh ok that makes more sense! My first experience with kegs was only this weekend and they were 72 pinters so didn't realise you could get mini ones. Clearly I'm not quite recovered yet...

  8. I don't think women have particularly different footwear requirements to men at a festival ;)

Can seriously recommend spending £35-£40 on wellies rather than a tenner... the insides are so much comfier and they don't dig into your legs when you're sat on the grass.

  9. I've just discovered the following facts:

    1) A local brewery does kegs in boxes

    2) I know someone who can get mates rates
