  1. Got loads of prep done yesterday in the sun, put up 3 of the 6 tents we'll be taking to check them over. Elastic needed tightening on some of the poles and a couple of little holes in the tent bags needed gaffa taping so glad I did it! Also tried out my new campsite flagpole but didn't realise I needed to buy stakes separately so got them ordered and will try again next week. Also washed all the cooking gear and started on the packing! AND I ran the race for life this morning and I'm not usually even awake til Sunday afternoons! :D

  2. I thought I'd read somewhere that Halvin didn't get a ticket this year and so wouldn't be updating it as much as usual until the official times are released? Very generous of him for still doing it at all if that's the case!

  3. The is a psychological reason why this happens. The is no tone of voice to a forum post and this makes what would seem like an innocent remark in person seem a lot more volatile and aggressive/condescending on the forums.

  4. Spray paint with a stencil might be the way forwards then... I've just had a great idea for the design too, just waiting for the 6m flagpoles to come back in stock now!

I've only ever taken a flag to one festival before (Leeds) and someone stole it on the first night! It wasn't even a good flag, just a poor effort with glow in the dark paint on an old pillowcase! That really pissed me off but I have much more faith in the Glasto crowd :)

  5. Won't work - almost the worst thing. Very high build, very heavy on the fabric - won't fly in light wind

You want as light as possible. Permanent fabric dye is king, available in liquid and pen form, but a bit awkward really

The fabric paints work just fine, but give it a wash before use to get rid of any excess weight and possible runs/mess before it goes up.

  6. On a related note, I'm planning on getting a blank flag and flagpole from the efests shop (campsite use only don't worry!) and wondered if anyone else has used one of these to make their own flag? I'm wondering whether to use fabric paint and waterproof it or I should stay safe and use Image Maker? Any advice out there?

  7. If someone who isn't going would be willing to put strong rumours/TBCs for secret sets on a twitter account then we could set text notifications up for that account, which would save a fair bit of time (and credit!)

I imagine it would be a pretty heartbreaking way to spend Glasto weekend, but if anyone who couldn't get a ticket wanted to volunteer I'm sure there would be a lot of extremely grateful people.

  8. Yeah both the quidco deal and the handsets are gone now it seems. Well done to the fast fingers who managed to score one for free!

    :sorry:*shameless plug* :umbrage:

I'm doing the Race for Life on Sunday and am terrified as I do not generally run unless it's last orders at the bar or I am being chased. If anyone who managed to get a phone for free would like to donate a quid or two to Cancer Research UK my link is here and I would be very very grateful.

  9. I like the Lush dry shampoo. It comes in a bottle and you pour some of the powder out onto your hands then rub it in. It gets a bit messier than the spray stuff but I find it works better, and smells very nice too.

I usually take a bar of Lush godiva shampoo in the small tin in case I absolutely have to wash my hair. I've only ever used Batiste dry shampoo which works ok but not great so I think I might try some of the Lush stuff instead, cheers!

  10. Mine's changed from 5% to 6% since lunchtime but still says Tickets are in stock and will be despatched shortly to the address provided

So not dispatched yet :( I'm a W in the North East btw.
