  1. Folding tripod stool - not as cheap as some, but under a fiver and one of the reviewers said it coped with a six footer, so should be good for my round tummy - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009W06Y40

That looks the same size as our poundland one, though I hope for the sake of your height it's actually a bit bigger! I saw some in Aldi the other day that looked to have legs about 50% longer than those in case it does end up being too small for you.

  2. Am I the only one who really enjoys pitching my tents to check before I go? It doesn't seem like a chore at all for me, in fact it gets me even more excited! I always get in, zip up the door and close my eyes and think "next time I'm sat in here I'll be there!" I fully admit to being a bit of a camping geek though, I'm taking all of our groups tents down this year as we'll be first on site so I've test pitched 6 of them in the last couple of weeks!

  3. Hi there, if staying around Yeovil town centre and planning to head up to the Podimore roundabout (A303/A37) route and leaving town before 7AM, it should be relatively straighforward and take around 20 mins from Yeo to Podimore r'about via either A3088 (Cartgate junction A303) or A37 (to Ilchester junction A303). Then from the Podimore roundabout up to Shepton via A37, that will completely vary depending on festival traffic.

  4. Yep, we camped under the pylons in Big Ground in 2007 and it was definitely noticeable, especially when it was raining (which was most of the time!). The air feels... static-y is the only way I can describe it, it's a bit weird. Someone in our group had brought a big golf umbrella and stopped using it pretty quickly after getting little shocks through the handle when sat outside. It was only a little annoying though, we didn't really feel unsafe or anything, I'm sure it there was any risk of it being genuinely dangerous they just wouldn't let people camp there.

  5. I haven't heard from any of my group in a while and have sent but not received any CDs.

    :resent:

I've been really looking forward to hearing some new stuff so if anyone has extra copies of their CD and is feeling particularly generous please pm me and I'll send you my address. Unfortunately I used the last of my blank CDs making the ones I've sent out already so I can't return the favour (but could maybe send mp3s somehow? Not the same I know but best I can do in the circumstances!)

  6. I really really hope Drenge are one of the TBAs on Thursday or announce another set, this is one of my most frustrating clashes. I would love to see R&G again but I've never seen Drenge and am really liking them at the moment.

  7. Same setup as last year for me - taking the 2 man Eurohike for sleeping in (the swirly patterned one - sharing with my sis) and a 3 man single skinner for storing cooking gear, food, bags etc. for the whole group. It works really well for us, a nice cosy tent for sleeping and one with a bit more room for getting changed/emergency wee funnelling etc.!

  8. My group are also using a shared doc on facebook to keep track of communal stuff so we don't end up with 4 air pumps and no gas stove etc. Not the worse idea if you're all packing and arriving separately.

I'm totally making a spreadsheet now, how had I not thought of this?!

edit - if you could share your template LondonTom that would be great!
