It's always around 8am. I can't see there being any chance of it being significantly different to that time.

As per above, we have got into the CV fields early on the Tuesday, don’t arrive too early as the police will force you to drive on, with the complications of trying to turn around on the small road. We got in just before 8am last year, there were around 50 CVs ahead of us. If you’re in the quiet area you get to park up as close as possible to the gate if you’re very early. Only problem we ever has was the last really wet years when vehicles were getting stuck, but at a guess we’ve been in no later than 08:30 for 5 or more years.

fits with some of the talk thats been going on ref Avalon

Just been looking at that more closely, there's definitely no route from Cabaret to Avalon anymore (Now just the narrow path from beside Glasto Latino), so looks like the Avalon has the same space but the route to the SE corner is now exclusively for those heading there, so may help reduce crowding. The back stage area of Avalon has shifted, from behind to the East, to now more North & East of the stage, which presumably fits with the Avalon Cafe gone.

Isn't that happening over at Woodsies area or have I just made that up?

Yes, the Tree Stage is running on the Wednesday & Thursday, but we don't yet know the scale of it, the stage last year was very small. It's obviously going to be an upgrade to some degree.

  4. I walked around Pilton a few weeks ago, it was already restricted traffic entry, so although they are so close to the festival to some extent they are well cordoned off from it, apart from the noise I guess many of the Pilton residents carry on much as normal. Certainly some don't go to the festival at all.

I'm glad I saw them but won't bother at Glastonbury. I admire they stick to what they want to do, the hits were great, a few other songs were good, but that waffling bit... Jesus, it was kind of embarrassing.

    Exactly this…

  6. I don't believe there will be a substantial stage at William's Green ever again. Carhenge is OK as it is and suffers by being compared to what was before.

probably available on the meplayer if you want to check it out yourself.

OK I have. It’s an absolute rip-roaring classic! I lie.

Think I’ll wait for Red when they next play in Manchester.

  8. I didn’t see any of it. Setlist below. Out of interest, what was Orange like? Was it Yellow in disguise? Mixed feelings about seeing them next month, I’d really enjoy half of the songs, the show is likely to be superb, but there’s plenty of doubts too….

  9. I’m going through a peak Glastonbury experience as the last 3 are all up there with the very best. Ranking is highly dependent on weather I admit, other than that mainly just how our large gang were camping together or not, the music, and the getting in/out system (Another reason why recent ones rank highly). So, from best to worst:

    2008

    2017

    2023

    2022

    2005

    2019

    2015

    2013

    2010

    2014

    2009

    2011

    2003

    2016

    2007

    2004

(I’ve lists and notes for every one so the ranking is easy).
