Ugh - I thought I'd escaped the perils of the secret resale by scoring tickets in the normal resale. Turns out we're now in the crap :(

The 'lead booker' received our tickets and accidentally posted them to an address that doesn't exist instead of to us. To top it off, she didn't put a senders address on it.

As a result, our tickets are currently in Belfasts Lost Property office - three football stadiums big. It normally takes 6 weeks to process something that's gone there. They arrived there on Friday. And they're doing all they can for us.

I'm hoping Royal Mail pull this one out the bag for us. Champagne in the post for them if they do.

Can't tell you how bad we feel at the moment :(

Jeeez that's horrendous for both you and the 'sender', I really hope royal mail manage to find them quickly.

unfortunately i can't offer any advice but wish you lots of luck, try to keep some faith, there's a few days left yet

Despite balancing a part time job and full time page checking and knob jokes..

I've only ended up getting a bloody First Class Honor in my degree!

Given everything you've been through with exams etc and being in here, that's a fantastic achievement, well done you

ok, heading out on my last shopping trip tomorrow - where do the space blankets go? over top of tent? between lining? funneled together to set alight attacking roman ships? help...

I put mine between inner and outer, stops rustling in any breeze and I just drape them over, no need to use tape

Wasn't able to find anybody I know in Birmingham, so it's getting sent by next day delivery tomorrow. Only put half the money upfront so if it goes tits up, I won't be out of pocket too much.

At this point I figured it was worth a gamble!

Crossing everything for you tonight, I hope it works out

Well, it all looked terrible yesterday. Woke up this morning to a text saying the ticket is at my friends house waiting for me. I can't actually believe it. 4 days before the festival gates open. Its been so much stress but now it all seems totally worth it and I can't begin to explain how happy i am. Thanks so much for all of the help, especially to the cucumber who immediately offered advice and help to a newbie/lurker on the forum looking for resale tickets. You are all hilarious, incredibly kind and weird in your own ways and i couldnt have got through the past couple of months waiting this out without hanging out with you guys, this thread definitely has the Glastonbury spirit. Good luck to those still looking.

    Now wheres my upvotes?

Fantastic news, I'm so happy and excited for you at this late stage you must be shaking like a shitting dog - I'll just have to give you an up vote, it's a replacement hug/kiss/squishy squeeze - you needy beggar.

Still hoping to see some more good news from the rest of the faithful.

Friends will be in the West CV field Tuesday, we were planning to queue over night anyway, but have been told we can park our car as normal in the West car parks, then walk round to join friends in CV field then enter the site Wednesday morning through the CV pedestrian gate. Does anybody have knowledge or experience of this?

I believe there is no ped access to CVWest, it is up a long lane so you'll need to go through gate d, get wristbanded and through the site to the CV fields gate

I'm really showing my lack of knowledge here but this questions quite an important one so I want to make sure my understanding is correct.....

Is it ok to take alcohol into the festival? I.e., if I have a plastic bottle of vodka in my rucksack and it's checked I'm ok to take that in? Obviously if we can take vodka in we'll be buying more in advance to save money. I'm just aware that all all other festivals I've been to you have to buy your drinks in the festival! Sorry for yet another newbie question - just seeking clarity after confusion and uncertainty in our group!

    thanks again!

Yes you can take vodka in a plastic bottle in your rucksack / cans cider etc and drink at will- loads of vendors (and ice cream vans) sell coke/Diet Coke which I then decant some vodka/rum whatever is my drink of choice for the night and tip into the coke - I buy cold cider during the day.

i usually take a 300ml bottle of vodka (empty small water sport cap) out for the night in my handbag and just buy mixers as I need them - drink a bit out of the coke bottle and keep topping up with vodka

Just popped in for first time today. So sad to see we're losing you Mo. Your support humour and kindness has brought many a smile. Still hoping we might see you there - but if not have a wonderful summer and good luck with tix in 2019

I will still lurk here and I do have my ticket sorted, I was trying to secure one for my partner, this would've been our 10th glasto together and due to group buying dynamics someone got a ticket for me but not him - our house has been a tense strange place over the past few months.

So I will see some of you at the meet Wed, and keep fingers crossed for those final competitions and those risking much to get themselves there too.

It's been emotional. Gutted this rollercoaster is coming to an end but it's been quite the ride.

Regardless of what happens, when we make it in 2019, we need a 2017 secret sales survivor meet up.

    Dan

It sure has been emotional, feels odd to be eventually leaving our bubble and venturing back into world outside of here

I hope our paths cross too in the future

    Sorry for the delay.

To order a log candle please post on this thread that you want one and also text your eFests user name to 07496 878573

It is likely that I'll be able to deliver to the CV fields early evening on the Tuesday.

The log candles are £8.00 each to eFesters but rather more to normal people. :)

You can collect any pre-orders from me in the Croissant Neuf field. I'll be at the bottom of the field, on the left as you enter from the railway line crossroads.

If you pre-order and end up getting caught up in the festival and don't get round to our place it is not a problem. I'll send a text out on probably Thursday evening or Friday giving a deadline to collect. After the deadline any I have left will be on public sale. Although I will have some for general sale. I won't have enough.

If anyone fancies a large one, let me know.

         J

Hi @Sawdusty Surfer if you are delivering to CV West, can I order 2 please

  12. As of tonight I'm giving up the chase and bowing out officially.

i will probably will pop in to say hi and hope to see more successful ticket stories over the next few days.

its been great having you lot for company over the last 6 weeks (is it that long), we've had laughs, koalas and knobs, but my work has suffered greatly and I need to move on.

if I don't see you in the fields this year, see you in 2019 (and hopefully not after being in this thread again in 2 years time).

  13. Individually wrapped pain au chocolate / brioche to start the day with a strong coffee made at camp.

We buy all other food on site as is fab and don't wanna spend time getting back to camp, which always seems to be at least an hour round trip when we end up on the periphery.

  14. I take individually wrapped pain au  chocolate /brioche type things for my first breakfast by the tent, one for each morning and leave some in car with juice cartons just in case you get stuck trying to exit car parks on Monday for a few hours.

Just been scouring my phone contact list to see if there's anyone I know who could possibly help and remembered that I've got Jackmaster's mobile number after meeting him in Berlin a couple of years ago. He said he would get me guestlist whenever I wanted, surely this counts?  Half tempted to give it a go. The worst is he could say no, right?

I'd give it a go, absolutely, if it's still his number
