  1. I don't mind it. Maybe I should revisit that first album.

Listened to No Rome for the first time earlier and I'm concerned at how fans will be able to stomach three hours of The 1975 on this tour.

    Does anyone believe that guy?

It's certainly hard to argue with Blossoms playing the home of Stockport County F.C. being the most important gig of the new post-Brexit Britain.

I’ve been shouted down for daring to suggest such a thing before, but is it conceivable that The Cure might headline Other if Swifty gets the Pyramid on Saturday night?

There's more chance of Taylor Swift playing a non-headline slot than The Cure.

Could Blink 182 do this? Travis & Mark are teasing a reunion

Would probably fuckin happen as well. Reunion with the same lineup they had in 2010 and 2014.

If this is for real then it’s timed well for Download, which must have a headline announcement just around the corner.

Well both him and Emily hinted at it on live radio and I imagine that has been covered on music sites/magazines like the NME.

eFests is the centre of the Glasto rumour mill anyway.

I was going to say Mumfords too but if they were added to that lineup I was replying to I imagine it'd be as a co-headliner with The Strokes and then LCD being knocked down to the second line of one day. They'll be playing one of Mad Cool/Beni for sure, I'd imagine, but I think they'd fit Beni better? No idea about their tour dates tho and whether they make one more likely than the other. Florence and the Machine, too.

And yeah I was gonna say there seems to be a few of possibilities for Download who could pop up if not playing Download Madrid or something (Bon Jovi, Rammstein).

Forget that Beni exists now that the ex-Leicester players have cleared off. Maybe.

Would actually expect The Strokes to be paired up with a coheadliner, and one that isn't LCD Soundsystem too. I can't imagine LCD Soundsystem still being on tour, and even then a headline spot won't happen if NIN, Massive Attack and Tame Impala weren't top-line names.

Rammstein are probably a bit niche for this but you're right that Download Madrid could snare some acts off this.

Mumford announced their show in Barcelona as "only show in Spain 2019". Possibly a ruse to sell as many tickets as they can before announcing festivals. But who knows.

I see them headlining FIB tho.

Oh that should do it. Grand.

Tweet from a promoter and manager. Probably just an educated guess, but maybe he knows...?

He called IOW the best festival in the world and Blossoms' takeover of a non-league ground the most important gig of 2019. Clearly lives in Opposite Land and none of those acts are playing the festival they're named for.

Yeah I agree on The Cure/Smashing Pumkpins. I know a lot of people on here don't think they could headline but in reality billing them as co-headliners and giving them a longer set as opposed to them just subbing doesn't really have any negative consequences for Mad Cool. Same as Jack White last year.

Don't think Muse will headline as they seem to be playing Madrid on their stadium tour. Not sure who else is around - maybe Macca if the Glasto rumours come to fruition and he isn't elsewhere by Mad Cool weekend.

Gosh Macca and those three would be something.

Thought Mumford y sus hijos were nailed on for this? No Madrid date on their tour. Would also be wary of Bon Jovi when those dates come out, as it was Live Nation ES that were teasing the announcement a while ago and Mad Cool belongs to Live Nation ES.

The Strokes have been rumoured for APE in London - if true I'd wager they'll headline Primavera Sound too.

Can't see it happening. They only last played three years ago, and have barely done anything since. I'm sure Gabi will happily let Mad Cool take them all for themselves.

They got played relentlessly on a recent camping trip where the music was out of my control, seemed harmless enough to me although I haven't gone back to them.

Fair one. I expected you to know about their history of racist and misogynistic abuse because they’re that notorious for it, but if someone was just playing their music and not simultaneously explaining the history of the band then I guess you weren’t to know.

Agree with everyone mentioned, I'd add Hideous Sun Demon, These New South Wales, Skeggs, Ocean Alley and Sticky Fingers to that list. And many more probably not coming to mind now.

And, as always, +1 for Alex Cameron.

    Delete Sticky Fingers nephew.

They've been touring their last album (which did quite well) for about 4 years now I can see why they're not pulling the numbers like they used to but they sold out 2 days at the O2 in 2016 I'm pretty sure, they'd be big enough if the new album does as well as the last and while they might not be the first choice could be like Biffy were in 2016 as a shoe in if Foos falls through?

BMTH are apparently headlining an outdoor London show instead of either fest, much like QOTSA did this year. They’d probably get someone different in if there was a contingency plan but I would suspect that The 1975 are more likely to need a contingency plan than the Foos.

As long as they don't bring their beer as it is shite. They think they are all big drinkers, yet they drink light beers i  little glasses.

I lived in Brisbane for a year and went out with a few lads one night. Got them on the Stella in an Irish bar. Thought they were clever knocking them back. All pissed with 90 minutes.

    Jesus.

You reminded me I missed Stella Donnelly off my list as well.

Where did this 2/3 headliners have never played before come from? That's definitely passed me by. Can remember Michael saying that about 2017, was that from the recent Q&A?

He said it at the NME Awards (although the says two OR three, rather than two OUT OF three, as the slash might indicate). A week later Emily said there was one headliner booked.

When do they usually release the initial line up?

I remember the Radiohead field stunt being pretty soon after the ticket sale last year but can`t remember the timing of that first poster they put out with the majority of the main acts.

The first poster normally comes out either in April or the very end of March.

Anyone think we could get a glasto act announcement next week? Obvs he’s not headlining but would make sense if they were releasing a few names?

maybe Turner, Liam G then Macca headlining?

If we do, it’s nothing to do with that tweet and Frank Turner will be at countless other festivals next year.

Does anyone think snow patrol could be potential headliners next year?

i really do think we should be thinking more into Mickys comments about 2/3 have never played before (assuming headlined) I’d be very surprised for both cure and macca! Hoping for cure over macca personally but I really do think 2 will be acts who’ve never headlined before. Just a thought ?

Pretty sure Michael said that before the headliners were booked.

Thoughts on Foster The People 3rd down or NME headliner? They played 4th in 2014 so moving up one would make sense with the new album doing pretty well. I would say they'd be great for the tent but I think the crowd would probably be a bit too big with Pumped Up Kicks pulling tons of people in, plus they haven't done any festivals since 2014 (and one smaller show in 2017)

Mate, this lot fell off years ago. They’d play to a couple of hundred people on the FR stage.
